Eleven and a quarter times a hundred and eight


I ma making it 1485 but apparently this is wrong.

    I know this has already been answered, but here's a step by step explanation as I just like to do maths...

    10 x 108 = 1080
    1 x 108 = 108
    1/4 x 108 = 27 (108 divided by 4)

    Add them all up and it's 1215

    What you're doing is adding a quarter of 11 to 11, ie 2.75+11, which is 13.75. Then you're multiplying that by 108 which gives 1,485.
    Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

    OP, if you are doing this on a calculator then a quarter is 0.25 so eleven and a quarter is 11.25
