    Unsolicited publications.

(1)A person shall be guilty of an offence if he sends or causes to be sent to another person any book, magazine or leaflet (or advertising material for any such publication) which he knows or ought reasonably to know is unsolicited and which describes or illustrates human sexual techniques.

It is good to know there are still some people around with a concern for the wider community, avstar. Unfortunately far too few. If I am fortunate enough to have children one day I will make strident steps to emigrate before it is time for them to start school. It is becoming increasingly clear to me that this isn't the sort of society I want my child to grow up in. There is a soullessness and a selfishness that is so widespread, very little in the way of common values, shared goals, urghh...I feel parents should be pulling together to build a better society for their children, instead their values often seem completely at odds to my own. I can't believe that a poster who shows concern for impressionable children in her neighbourhood is being told effectively to butt out.

Well stop and think for a moment. Us "Brits" are largely regarded across the world as prudes.

Sex Ed starts in some countries as young as 5 or 6. When do we start? When they've already hit puberty and a number of them will have already lost their virginity - with a smaller number probably already either pregnant or as having a pregnancy scare.

When I was sitting my Standard Grades, we had a girl join our year, she had originally been a year or two above us but had to take time out at fourteen to have a child.

Perhaps if, as a country, we were more vocal about sex then we genuinely could make a difference. I do believe kids need to maintain their "innocence" of course......but I believe it should be balanced. After all, if our kids get the impression from us that something isnt supposed to be spoken about/done.......why on earth are they going to confide in you? They wont. I'm not just talking about sex here.

Take alcohol for example. As a toddler, I used to dip my dummy in my family members drinks (usually whiskey, gin or brandy). At new year we would be allowed a small drink (not a full measure ofc, just a taster). When I started approaching teenage years, my dad would let me decide when I'd had enough, my mum always panicked that I'd drink too much - my dads reply to her was "she'll learn, she needs to know what her limit is. To this day I have NEVER been so drunk that I wasnt fully aware of where i was, who i was, where i lived, who i was with, what i was doing etc. I did get tipsy but never more.

Yet schoolmates who were never allowed alcohol, all managed to get themselves in a state and often had no recollection of the night before.

    Hehe :P

An interesting observation though, they are fined per offence. So I wonder if mass dropping leaflets would be counted as 1 offence or whether it would be classed as multiple.

First offence is £100, every offence thereafter is £400.

Maybe the author is aware of this legislation and has checked it will be counted as 1 offence and has thought that the publicity they will get will far outweigh the fine.

It's probably not on google or bing because the author doesn't know how to optimise their site for search engines.

Oh, also, if the tame description on this leaflet is anything to go by, then those American Pie: Uncut, too hot for cinema etc etc adverts would have been pulled for the same reason.
