First 14 days without cover on British Gas Boiler Breakdown Cover

Hi,
My boiler is looking very likely to break as it appears to be developing a fault (it is making very odd noises) - if I take out cover today with British Gas Homecare and it breaks in the next few days, and I am prepared to wait 14 days and then ring British Gas, will I be covered at that point - or will they suspect the fault was there before I took out the policy?
It says in the policy Terms and Conditions that they will not be responsible for fixing faults which existed before you entered into an agreement with them - could they prove / would they know that the fault existed earlier?
Thanks

It's a pre-existing fault, therefore your claim will be fraudulent.
Why not just get a local independent GSR RGI in to fix the fault? Then you won't need to pay for a year's cover. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
You will only be accepted onto the homecare contract after an engineer has done a first visit, which includes a service. So it would not be taken on with a fault. However you can have a 'first fix' done at the same time which is £99 and covers all parts and labour, covered under warranty. Could work out cheaper than an independant depending on what the problem is. (although obviously you would be taking on a year's homecare contract).0

I signed up for it a couple weeks ago and they told me that if I have a problem before the first engineer visit I should call them and they will send someone out. The first visit is schedule for Nov 9, 2012.0
