Dental Help???

Just a quick query and I doubt Im liable to any help but dont ask and all that :)

I work 16 hours a weeks @ £6.19 _ just over the £99 a week ( no tax, no NI withdrawn)

Ive posted before how I pay for my own uniform and for cleaning ( uniform is chefs so no way can it be used for social wear)

So no NI and NO tax - No sick pay either

Can I get help for dentist or optician? I get free prescriptions ( Northern Ireland) but I spend maybe £24 a month on non prescribed meds) and £30 a month on hygienist as well as whatever dental treatment I need ( and I wont even mention glasses :( )

Just seems the older Im getting the more Im spending keeping myself viable, food wise - well thats a poor third after heating

£30pcm?! Are you using corsodyl or peroxyl daily, for gum disease? As this seems very expensive.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

Have you tried filling in a hc1 form to see if you qualify for nhs help on grounds on low income? That won't help with hygienist costs though.

Try investigating some of the health cash back plans to see if they will be economically worth while for glasses/dentist?

Corsodyl should not be used except short term as it stains and is not a cure all for gum disease. Peroxyl also is an adjunct but not a treatment for gum disease.

I assume the £30 a month is denplan or similar and so is the cost of all dental dental treatment ?

If you clean your teeth daily, they're a waste of money. I haven't had to have anything done other than a quick polish for years. I reckon I'd have paid well over £1500 under this plan for that.

I've never heard of a hc1 form before. Where would I find one of these?

I've never really had to worry about the costs before as hubby has always earned a good wage. But the past three years he's been out of work more then working and we have to cut back everywhere we can and we don't really know what help is Availible to us if at all any.

No plan. I pay £35 every two months to hygienist and so far the past three years I've had three root canal treatments, three crowns and a new partial plate and an extra extraction so another tooth added

I only use the corsodyl when instructed by hygeinist and I'm never without my tepe brushes. I really do need to floss but its something I just cannot manage. Even with the floss on sticks I have managed to get trapped in between my teeth needing them to be cut out and me gagging and puking around it :(

This is why I see the hygienist so often. I can only bear short times in the chair before I start gagging and begin to panic
