I'm not telling.. I'm surprised that other people do though :)

    Eh?? Why??
I'm quite happy with one credit card to be honest. I don't understand why people need 5 or more credit cards

I have made roughly £300 on my cards last year.. In points, cashback, saved interest... Good enough reason?

Nectar Amex £5500... couple of hundred quid balance, general shopping, to get Nectar points - cleared in full

Tesco Clubcard £2000 limit (chosen by me).... about £100 balance, back up for when Amex not accepted, cleared in full

M&S £3000 - 0 balance, need cancelling (used before got Amex)

NatWest £3900 - 0 balance, need cancelling (used for BT)

Nationwide £4500 - 0 balance, for travelling (no commission)

MBNA £4900 - £1200 on 0% BT, used to pay for home improvements and car insurance in one go instead of paying ridiculous 24.9% APR for monthly payments

Just applied for Capital One Mastercard for cash back, to replace my Amex as they have a system fault not awarding points... fed up with them, so by by Npectar.

Not the kind of information I want to give away on a public forum to some strangers. Feeling anonymous by using a nickname is illusive. All I can say is that I've got a Barclaycard Simplicity since before the Recession.. still at 6.8% APR ;)

How much did you have to spend to get that £300? But good result I suppose. I'm quite addicted to saving and overpaying my mortgage as much as possible every month. My credit card is just a tool to buy online, pay for flight tickets, hotels. In emergency I can use it to have my car repaired etc. And I like my credit file short and tidy haha.

Maximum number of credit cards I've had at the same time were 3.

    everyone to their own..
it is not something I wouldn't tell anyone who asked me. If I was completing survey online or for National Statistic office for example. I think the real threat of revealing basic information is very illusive if you ask me..

Like I don't understand the argument over ID cards. I have one (foreign national) and I can see only good things about it.
But this is argument for another day.

I can absolutely assure you I didn't spend more then I would have anyway.. It's not about buying stuff to make money, it is about paying for your stuff the most efficiant way.
The car insurance is ideal example - pay monthly it is the quote plus 24.9% APR. pay for it on 0% purchase card it is just the quote price while still having the option to pay monthly. Pay on cash back car - total result actually less then the original quote;)

    Virgin Money M/C : £6000 limit [snip]

Nationwide CC Visa : £3000 limit [snip]

    Santander 123 M/C : £6000 limit, [snip]

Limits running about 20% salary ( however if you include my stupidity loan it's about 45% so I won't be getting any good deals soon!!)

I'm just being nosy, but if you have a 90k salary (18k limit * 5), how come you still owe your Dad 750 quid? ;)

I would love it to be 90 but that was just me doing back of fag packet calculations, it is more in the 70 range plus occasional overtime/dividends.

I have been coming here since the beginning of the year because even though i earn a decent whack it never seemed enough, i was always borrowing here and there or putting nights out or holidays on cards i never even though about paying back. Don't get me wrong i had a Flipping great time but my life has changed now, have my DW (expecting our DD in Feb) and a 2yr old DS.

My wife doesn't work as where we live it would hardly be worth the childcare so running a household of 3 + pets doesnt leave a mass left over when you have a £24000 debt to service!

My dad lent us the money in 2010 so i could buy a half decent car, i could pay him quicker but he is happy with what we agreed and neither of us see any reason to do it any quicker.

Nosiness is fine, hope it makes sense
