SKY and the recent MSE codes deal

Options
Well, I was one of the "lucky" ones that received a code and took up the Sky offer.

Sky started on 30th September and yesterday I received the invoice for my first 2 bills.

However they are NOT the MSE deal prices! I kept a screen print of the deal I signed up to as I heard there was nothing from Sky confirming anything apart from "thanks for joining".

Well, my deal was £28 pm including £10.25 for HD.

They are charging £38pm. Saying its half of the standard £55.50.
I spent a very long time talking to 3 different accounts people trying to explain the situation.
They have now offered to halve the HD price.

Anyone else who took out this offer have this difficulty?

  • Hi

Yes I've had a similar problem. I signed up to their basic TV package plus broadband and calls. Was told my monthly payment would be £10.75 for the TV package. Got my bill for the first two months and the discount has been applied for the first month but not the second. I rang them. I got cut off twice after 5 minutes and on the third occasion managed to speak to someone only to be told they had no knowlege of the offer, there was nothing on my account to say that I had this offer. I offered to forward the e mail from Marketing that I received after I'd signed up but apparently there is no e mail address to which I can send it! All he could say was that he would 'escalate' the query and ask someone in the 'back office' to see if they could apply the deal and would get back to me within 72 hours - i.e. by Weds evening. Someone else I know has had a similar problem and spent 2 hours on the phone trying to sort it, only to end up with a deal that wasn't the one they originally signed up for!

The only reason I decided to get Sky was because of this deal so if they won't honour it, then I'm cancelling everything. It doesn't look very good for either MSE or Sky if these codes aren't going to be honoured.
  • Hi miker

That doesn't sound right, the code was for 50% off. Though Sky very disingenously show the first month's cost at the checkout with a £10 deduction that they take to check bank details - it's very confusing and although we've asked it to change it, it can't currently do that.

Can you send your details to sky@moneysavingexpert.com including a postcode or Sky account number and we'll ask it to check the figures.

    Thanks

  • I have just been told by "accounts" that if you click on "contacts" at the bottom of the SKY page, choose "Account and Billing" then choose "complaints" and then click "EMAIL"[!!!], that you can send them an email and they will respond with an email address thet you can actually use!

HOWEVER JUST RECEIVED AN AUTOMATED REPLY MAIL SAYING...

Thisis an automatic acknowledgement of receipt of your email. Please do not replyto this email as replies to auto acknowledgements will remain unanswered.

Thanks, I have included a screen print of the order I made.
I ALSO phoned to check that it would be £28pm EVERY month and was told "yes"

    Cheers

Hello, I've had the same problem too.

We used the MSE Sky deal too and ordered Entertainment Extra with Sports and Movies for £17.75 per month and Sky+HD pack for £10.25 per month. Our first month’s bill was correct at £28 but this month’s bill is £38.

The first bill shows two separate discounts of £27.75 and £10.00. The advisors I have chatted to online are suggesting the £10 on the first bill is a refund of our upfront payment charge, but it clearly shows on the bill as a viewing subscription discount.

I've sent the confirmation email (showing correct prices) plus screen shots of our 1st and 2nd bill to the email address that MSE Archna posted. Hope you guys can help!
