Well I've got an appointment with a solicitor tomorrow afternoon so will get a better idea of where we stand.

Oddly I do now know which solicitor my neighbour is using. By coincendence its the same solicitor which I originally used when I purchased the house. Not sure if there is anything I can use with that bit of information

Well another quick update on this one.

One of the other houses affected is actually a housing association property and they were down yesterday to inform my neighbour they are currently taking legal action to stop this from happening.

A bit of a relief to here that there is now a big organisation with plenty of financial clout to fight this action.

Have you not contacted your local councillor?

Why spend money seeing your solicitor when the Council have a legal department who deal with these matters; that is why you pay Council Tax.

    Hi Cardew,

Things have changed somewhat since my last post.

I once again spoke to my neighbour and explained that he should have gone about this in a completely different way. I suggested he should have contacted us all without the threat of stopping peoples water supply but we had an urgent issue with the water which would risk all our homes. With this we then should have gone to Yorkshire Water.

Well he actually said he wished he had done that. So this is what we are now doing. The whole supply is a mess so and we also found out that one of the properties were given a free supply of their own recently (because they'd not received a water bill). Looking at the current pipe configuration it looks relatively straight forward to sort. There is actually a supply pipe beyond our boundraies which could be used.

So we have wrote a letter to YW requesting one of their engineers to come out and look at the entire site and suggest what we can do to resolve our problems.

Also copied in Local Councillor, MP & Consumer Council For Water so we will see if they react
