monitor or graphics card on the way out?

Ah sorry, I miss read the Tech Spec and thought it had a graphics card included. My bad.

It may be easier to try another monitor if you know someone who could let you try theirs....saves mucking about with video cards

update

it seems to be the card , just to recap i start the pc green light comes on but screen is blank.

i then boot my laptop plug the vga into laptop, laptop screen will then appear on monitor (tried many times , works everytime).

then unplug vga from laptop back to pc, then the screen works again as normal. when i reboot i will have to do the same process and all works fine.

it seems very strange problem, any more insight would be appreciated

The card itself is compatible yes. The only issue you might run into is that your power supply is rated 300W, which may not be enough to keep your system stable under heavy use with this card.

Have you added any extra hard drives, fans or CD/DVD drive since buying the computer?

many thanks for you input, i only use my pc for basic office tasks , browsing , and watching moves no i have not added anything, can someone recommend a cheap card that is suitable for my pc , thank you
