Sky broadband

Anyone using this provider atm, any good? I'm with Orange atm, had our broadband free as part of a mobile phone package but now we have to pay for it now which I can see has already infuriated alot of users on here and rightly so. Offered £13.50 for unlimited but looking at Sky mainly as we have other packages with them. My main focus points are reliability, speed, customer service and value for price. Is it possible just to get broadband, some of their packages linked with home phone. Cheers

I have actually just left Sky, so serving our notice, not through bad experience, just to save money. We have been with them for over a year, and in that time never had any real problems. The speeds were always consistent. Cannot comment on Tech support, as we never needed to call for any. I would be happy to say I recommend them
  • been with sky for years ,uk call centers ,when we had problems they where sorted quickly and at the end of contract they are willing to paly on price . The only problem is the money goes to murdock i belive

Been with Sky for a while now. Never had any downtime or any reason to complain. Very good all round. Quicker than BT anyway lol
  • Sky will be hiking their line rental again in December to £14.50. I have just switched to them having had their TV package for years without any real issues, but the connection is really slow at peak times.

Might be worth checking their help forums before deciding.

If quick you can avoid the line rental increase by paying 12 months in advance.

Sky does go slow at loading pages at times, sometimes its really bad - infact its the worst I've seen in 10 years of broadband...IE has hissy fits with Sky BB loading pages & crashes at times, cheap but I would not recommend them.

The line rental increase allows FREE cancellation/MAC & I will be doing this for some family members...the only took it as free 6 months then £10 - you get what yoy pay for...

    SKY do NOT support UMA.
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

I've been with Sky for a while.
I had several outages earlier in the year and I got Virgin BB in.
But then Sky gave me 6 months free phone line rental, which equates to something like the BB tariff, so I've still got both.
Since I work from home a lot, the monthly cost of both combined has been cheaper than going to the office for a day.
