Present ideas for 5yr old and 3yr old girls

I know it's early, but I am really stumped at what to get my girls for that big thing going on in December, It's also my Daughter's Birthday on the 8th December. She will be turning 5.
So far I've got them both a big bubble sword each and I've brought Elefun for my eldest and an annual each.
I feel like I don't even know my own children as I have no idea what to get them. DD2 is more into boys toys like cars so I've ordered some little ones from ELC, Ive also got them a wooden castle and some happy land charcters to go in it.
I need ideas for a stocking/sack and bigger gifts.
Thanks

Sounds like you've got them quite a lot already! Why do you think they need more?0

Er, can you not just ask them?0

You could get the five year old to write a Christmas list. What about some musical instruments or dressing up clothes? Do they like puzzles or art? Mine love playing with an easel. The toy that mine play with the most is Duplo. Could you ask nursery or pre school what the three year old likes playing with best? I wasn't too sure about mine this year so I took them to a toy shop and gave them the Argos catalogue and listened to their oohs and aahs.0

Girls of that age tend to really enjoy "role play" activities. I'd therefore recommend any of the following:
- dress up clothes
- play house / shop / doctors surgery / restaurant / kitchen / hair salon / post office etc
- tool box
- cleaning set / ironing board / washing machine / hoover /microwave / fridge
- toy food / utensils
- puppets / theatre
- people and animal figures

How about books or story CDs for the elder?0

My daughter is 5 in November, I wasnt sure at first then i started browsing amazon and now I need to stop. I bought her a DS for her birthday and some games. For Christmas I got her some play shoes, tinkerbell towel, leapfrog tag and some books, handbag and accessories, vanity dressing table, jewelry box with dancing fairy and some batman toys. I have also got a few studio ghibli/disney dvds. Oh and a new scooter.0
