Hi MMTWGR
Good to see you posting again, I was wondering what was going on with you. I also think that you are doing the right thing re the bankruptcy. I know how down you must feel and how much of a struggle all this will feel like but at the end of the day you've made it through life thus far and you can't give up now! I have a history of bad thoughts, but money is not something I would ever consider doing something drastic over, because they can't take what you haven't got, and there's always a way back from debt. Take any help you need in resolving this, and remember a lot of people care about you. You will get through this. Hi there
Have just read your diary and decided to pop in and say hi! You're doing really well and you are already making decisions about what you and your family need to do over the next little while so that's great. Of course you will have low days from your illness but on the days you can get motivates you seem to achieve a lot. Well done honey.
Will subscribe and pop in and see how you are doing. One thing that did occur to me is that your meal planning whilst good does have a lot of meat which is generally more expensive than veggie dishes or fish eg. Tinned tuna. My lot adore tuna pasta bake for example and 1 tray always lasts for 2 meals. I chuck lentils into sausage casserole - healthier and MUCH cheaper and after a while no one notices. Buy lentils etc from an Indian supermarket if you can, million times cheaper) I also sometimes do soup as a starter which fills people up a bit. You know the old ideas are the best! My gran used to make a chicken last 3 meals. I can only get it to do 2 plus maybe some sarnies!!

Right, it does seem I may qualify for the fee waiver - proving it at the moment is another matter but it takes the probable target down to £525.
Did car boot and also got money from ex and friend so should have had £200 for the BR fund, but I have had to spend it all on new shoes for eldest, school trips x 3, school bill outstanding for 2 months, petrol and rent arrears. So not much further along. This is really hard
Still got guaranteed:
1) £200 from child benefit - 11th December
2) £200 maintenance from ex - 30th November
Possible:
3) £100 for selling exercise equipment
So it is still possible, but its making sure when this money comes in it isnt needed elsewhere. And it is to be honest. Need to think outside the box with this I think.

Thanks for the replies Sox, Fudgefund and Brizzle ... much much appreciated.
Finding it hard to save outside of normal life so it will be a struggle.
Brizzle - tuna seems to be incredibly expensive nowadays - when did that happen?? It used to be 47p !! I might have a look in Home Bargains and £ shop to see how it compares. But great idea - would only need 1 tin so would still work out cheaper than the meat.VR repayment £404 £156.02 PAID

How are you doing money? Hope your week is going well. i was astounded at the price of tuna a while ago, hadn't bought it for ages either and it seemed to have tripled in price during that time... never mind, don't like it that much anyway
We're going cheaper on the kids lunches here, instead of expensive cereal bars which are mostly full of rubbish anyway, we've been wrapping them up a couple of value digestives each day. They're happy with the change, especially since I accidentally bought chocolate ones
