take everything out so you can reach the little drain hole at the back. Use some cotton buds or twisted kitchen roll to unblock it

I use an opened out paperclip ;) I'll add this to the existing thread on this subject to keep ideas together.

  • I degunged mine and then stuck some bleach down it. Kept it free for a while. Don't know what happens to the bleach. I expect there's a little pool somewhere at the back
  • lovely thanks all, just used some ear bud things so we will see, where does that black gunge from yucky!!1

If you do have to get new fridge, get a frost free one, works on blowing cold air around. I have never looked back since I got mine

  • I had a result here - kept finding water in bottom of fridge and temp seemed to be off. Read a few posts in the thread and tried the straw trick...3 subway straws pushed into one another - one end down small drain hole and blew on opposite end - a load of gunk came up and then emptied - heard the fridge kick back in and no more water!! Straw trick worked much better than any other suggestions
