cleaning out the fridge this morning and I find a pool of water at the bottom. What has caused this - is the fridge too hot or too cold or something else.
TIA

You may find that the drain is blocked. On my fridge, its located at the back on the bottom shelf. I usually find a stray radish etc in it!0

I always find my veg drawers end up with a little pool of water.... they have no drainage but it's really nasty... sorry to crash but any ideas / tips?! (I do clean them out every week or so...!)0

This happens to me loads, so much so that I put a thin teatowel across the bottom shelf of my fridge to soak it up and change this every week.
The drain is in the middle on the back wall of the fridge and is constantly blocked by it freezing so I've got to move the little icecube there, but the whole fridge is not too cold (judging by thermometer) so I've cut an old milk bottle top off and put it under to catch drips.
Works out ok for me - but I'm in line for a new fridge as this one is about 15 years old!"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -
Another vote for the blocked drain at the back. Mine gets disgusting
but is easily unblocked if I stick one of those wooden kebab sticks or similar down it and give it a wiggle.
Hope this helps!

Yep me too! I have a little wiggle with a stick (well the stick does the wiggling). Gone is the pond at the bottom of the fridge! :j:dance:Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn't make me Madonna. Never will. :dance:0 -
Hi
you can also pump the water from the drain with one of those pumps screwed to detergent dispensers. Insert the tube inside as far as it can get and pump until no more water comes out, but before put a small bowl underneath to collect it.0 -
That's a great idea, nikabella! Possibly less satisfying than hoiking out all that embarrassing black smelly gunge with a kebab stick though :rotfl: :rotfl:
Hmm, maybe I should investigate what's lurking at the bottom of MY fridge......
