    2. HP laptops have a heat problem. Apparently they get VERY HOT.

    3. Lenevo (?) are German based. If you have problems with them their customer service is AWFUL.
What nonsense. Do you have any evidence to make such statements?

I have had a 17.5" HP laptop for over 3 years and never had an issue with it.

Lenovo is Chinese, based in Beijing, and took over the old IBM PC company. I bought an ultraportable 11.5" laptop from them a year ago, which was shipped from Shanghai, and there have not been any issues with the service nor the laptop.

In 2011, HP and Lenovo were respectively the first and second largest by market-share PC vendors in the world. The laptops and customer service from Lenovo and HP are among the best in the world in 2012.

Ooops! Sorry. I'm just going by the Amazon reviews. Having read sooooo many, that's the conclusion that I came to. I wouldn't buy HP or Lenovo due to this (esp secondhand), but I'm no expert. I'm glad your Lenovo laptop is great.

    4. Try and buy one with a 1 year guarantee. If you're buying from a private seller and they say the laptop is new/new other/less than a year old, ask if they have the receipt and is it under warranty.
    :j I hope my comment helps :T
