Hi,
Yesterday I forgot to transfer money from my savings account to current account and standing order for rent has left unpaid. Today i made a transfer, but I do not know if bank (Barclays) will automaticly retry to pay standing order or it has been cancelled this month and I need to do standard transfer to pay my dues.
Thanks,
Pawel

If insufficient funds it skips till next time it is due.
Arrange some other method to pay your LL asap.0 -
As stated, the S/O will wait for next month's payment. As you have a S/O set up, it would be simple for you (if you use online banking or go to the branch) to make a one off payment to the account the S/O goes too. As it was only due out yesterday, you could just blame it on the bank if the LL asks why it was a day late30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.0

Exactly the same thing happened to me a couple of months ago (forgot to transfer rent money from one account to another). Fortunately I realised the day it was due to go out so was able to do as suggested above, made a transfer of money to my Landlords account (made a payment to him, it took place instantly) so I wasn't actually late paying the rent.
The standing order went through next month.., it was not re presented to my account. I did phone my bank to check this wouldn't happen and they said it couldn't with a standing order.., only happens with direct debits.
I also emailed my landlord and let him know what I'd done. He was fine about it as he received the rent on the day it was due anyway. I'm sure a couple of days late won't make much different to yours.., but best to let him know either way.0 -
OP - you can check this sort of info direct with your own Bank. If you don't have a hard copy of their account info/Ts and Cs then you will find one online.
Talk to your bank asap because you may have incurred a bank charge for failing to have sufficient funds in place to pay the SO. Can you arrange an auto-transfer of funds from your other a/c to your current a/c so as to avoid similar problems in the future?
You should also speak to your LL - most LLs are tolerant of this sort of thing provided they know what is going on and you confirm exactly when you will get the rent paid across to them.0 -
Welcome!
Check this with your bank. Even if they do retry this might not be for a week or so, which may annoy your landlord needlessly.
