My DS has been taught where the laundry bin is in his room... without fail he puts his clothes in there every night. OH thought i was being mean but I told him DS needs to take responsibility for himself (at 3! he he;)):rotfl::rotfl: It is true though :D

This made me smile Tigerwhite, my DS1 was very self sufficient, at a similar age to yours he used to tidy room and put clothes in wash bin. A little older I taught him to cook and he could rustle up several dishes, at ten he was a dab had with the iron. Now he is 18 he won't do anything and would rather go hungry than cook himself something. His bathroom is :eek::eek:. And he has forgotten which end of an iron needs plugging in. Cant wait to see how he fends for himself next year at Uni. :D:D:D

Evening, I am also a shortie, in fact a LUMP...Lovable Undersized Mature Person. Two sayings I like are: 'You never find a dimamond as big as a brick' and 'there's a lot of sweetness in a small sugar lump'.
At school I was called a PLP...Public Leaning Post, my peers would come and rest their elbows on my head and just stand and chat to their friends! At 5ft I had a 6ft 3" boyfriend for 2 years, didn't half get some comments and stares.:)
Tomorrow I'm going to see my son who started at UCLAN and is very lonely, I have tried to encourage him to get out of his room to the gym, library etc but we go round in circles as he says he doesn't want to go on his own. Hope all the others that have started uni are getting on ok.

Uni can seem lonely at first.
Has he joined any societies? What about the International Society- he'll be glad to have friends abroad when he's older. Does his subject have a society. in my old uni there was a Biology society (used to go to all the meetings of the Biochem soc and vice versa to make up numbers but you soon got to know people).

Plus a science society ( just an excuse to visit breweries etc). Some societies are keen for new members.
Or a hobbysociety like climbing or Ballroom dancing ( teaches you to dance at formal occasions and meet some girls as well). :D
Encourage him to try some of these maybe.

  • Truly Madly, he's doing Criminology & Criminal Justice and has just been given his first assignment and says he doesn't know where to start. I have told him there must be lots of people to help at uni but he doesn't know who to ask. He is a young 20 yr old, small for his age (looks 13/14!) My last one to fly the nest so it's stressfull knowing he's lonely.

is he house sharing ?? maybe do a box of goodies with a few free reloaded and baravier larger and take that with you for him to have a room/house party to get to know people
also i dnt want this to sound bad so read it in a nice way :

tell your son by going out once on his own could lead to lots of friends there are so many people insame position who are looking for friends so he litraly got to pull his sock up put shoes on and go find them as they wnt find him in his room :D

Fab - So im not the only one poising my family with out of date food lol!!

    I still have another 4!!

Recon they might make next year pmsl x

I don't go by these sell by dates... I used to, but then I experimented.. and you can usually get away with eating something a day or even 3 after the sell by/use by date. I will search for a link to a program you will find very interesting about this.

Oh.. except sushi and fish - i'd be careful with those.
  • JJJ, LUMP is for LOVABLE Undersized Mature Person, used as an affectionate term. lol.:rotfl:

Well, you can say that.. however, if someone called me a lump, they'd not be on my Christmas Card list this year. Maybe I'm over sensitive.. ? But thanks for explanation. x.

Potential for overcharge tomorrow if ood sel up in your store and increase in APG if still £4 in Ts! Will check .com in the morning :D
