I like this store as well...especially the Costa coffee, I always feel that I am due a coffee when I shop there.
I did notice on Thur that they had a pallet of something unopened at the tills, so watch out to see what it is.

Well done Costa coffee drinkers.
Sorry can't find link at moment but I was incensed to read earlier in the week that Starbucks have not paid tax in the Uk for 3 years and have only paid £15million in the last 8-15 years. They reckon they haven't made a profit in the last three years (altho interestingly they don't say this to shareholders - business good in their profit reports to them). No profit due to high franchise costs and premise lettings costs. Who gets these payments? .. Another arm of Starbucks - classed as a 'separate company'. Apparently legal but not moral - there was a time when the latter corralated but seems enterprise culture, accountants and maximum profit rule.
Compare this to Costa coffee who are a uk company (probably smaller) who pay £35 million in tax a year! Think of the public services that could have been saved or the reduction of national debt if Starbucks had paid what they owe - why are they getting an advantage our companies often don't get. If the govt is unable/unwilling to put foot down then has to be customer footfall... ditch the fleecing multinational and support our homegrown one playing by the rules. Sorry rant over ...:(
Can't comment on quality of coffee as I am a tea drinker normally ..but can't tast it at present - hopefully by end of Nov I can have a nice refreshing cuppa..:D0 -

I'm off to sainsbobs to see if they want to give me a money off conditional spend to go along with these also. I've made a small space in my cupboard to fit this shop in
Off to check MSM to see if I get anything back on a pp.SPC #329 £471/£500 banked

No shopping for me today. I am spending more than I should.. but getting a lot for the money I spend. Only problem is, money tends to run out! Got to get some temping soon so I can continue this quest to try to reach the Elite.
Hi Jerry,
You do seem to spend a bit more when you first start shopping in the way of the Elite but believe me after a few months it totally changes. Once you have built substantial stashes of things your shopping habits change and you no longer need to do "proper" shops.
And I have found after doing it for around a year, even with Mr TS losing half of his job in the middle of it, that at the end of each month we were no longer in our overdraft and few months more I actually had savings left each month. So now when something good comes up I have the money there to spend.
Could not have done it without all the help of everyone on MSE and I don't include just this thread as have often used deals on other threads too. But the biggest help has been from the Elite both financially and emotionally at times. :A
Good luck with finding some temping work Jerry.0 -
