3dogs, there is not much I can say to this other than take one day at a time and one thing at a time. Try to plan to sort one thing a day and no more, then if you have a sudden purge it will be a pleasant surprise instead of a chore. Try to make sure you go out somewhere each day too, even if it's just to sit in the garden, fresh air will make you feel so much more alive.
Have you thought of a memory box or 2. I have been keeping one of these since I was 12. Anything I have that means something to me, no matter how large or small, expensive or tatty. If it has a memory, but I have no use for it in my everyday life, into the box it goes. Over the years this box has become 2 and changed to a plastic one so that they can be kept safely in my loft. This may help you with some of the things you need to go through xx

I did get a box and have put the sympathy cards, messages, order of service in there, with some precious photos and a few other bits. I was looking at some other boxes in T today for £2.50 and may get some of those for other things that need kept. Just the cardboard file box things. Just pop a name or ssubject on front label and stack them, should look pretty ..... and most importantly, tidy
If you are struggling to get the old dog to start going outside again you could try puppy pads, they are quite absorbant & waterproof backed. I found the cheapest were from Homebargains & I have a full pack I dont need now my puppy is house trained. If I put one down now he just shreds it!lol Just PM me ur addy & I'll post it to you, it will give you chance to try before you buy! Try not to let it get you down, focus on what you want to achieve and try to do even just a little each day to help you get there. When I'm lacking motivation I write a massive list of jobs I need to do, no matter how small and I cross them out as I do them. When I look at the list, even if only one or two things are crossed off, I know its one or two things closer to my goal :)

I do have some puppy pad and am using them at the moment. Actually they are bed pads from when Alan was at home, but very good size and do the job well :o. Problem is, my friends Steve & Andy are coming up from Portsmouth at the end of the month to decorate my hall, and the dogs will be going into kennels again. Then at end of November they will be in again when I go down to Portsmouth, for the Victorian Christmas Festival at the Naval Dockyards. Plus I will be up North for Christmas and down Portsmouth for New Year so they will be in the kennels again then. So I must spend more time at home in the new year, so they aren't in kennels as much. I feel much better when I am away with family or friends, but it is not fair on them to be in kennels so much. I know I will adjust to life on my own, but I think I will be able to do that better when the house is in order. I do tend to get swamped by the amount of work needed though

Oh 3dogs I'm sorry to see you are feeling a bit low at the moment but I'm sure the feeling will pass, you always write such lovely posts to others on this site I just felt I needed to respond to yours, I wouldn't worry too much about loosing it momentarily we all do that and then feel silly after, I lost it big time a while back with my 2 DD's, was nagging them for ages to clean their rooms and they never did on this particular day I just lost it, can't remember why, but I was like a mad woman, went into both there rooms starting screaming like a banshee went outside, brought the wheelie bin to the door and everything from clothes to books xboxs the lot went into it, the 2 of them went running to my friend to get "help" an after about 20 mins the stuff was back in their rooms, they laugh about it now and they actually managed to keep their rooms clean for about 3 days! Now I just don't go in them, so
iI think your little blunder was mild in comparison and I hope me post has put a little smile on your face, sending you big hugs xxxx

Thanks hun, loved your story of your kids' rooms :rotfl:

I am off to bed now, so thanks again for your kind words everyone. Nice to see you posting Caz

    Evening guys :D

I have been very down since getting back home and need to get motivated to do some work in the house. I picked the dogs up from the kennels on Monday and took them straight to the groomers. They both looked lovely when I picked them up later, with their coats trimmed right back, and smelled lovely, much nicer than they did wwhen I got them from the kennels

Problem is, after 32 days in the kennels, they have both been weeing in the house  I let them in the garden several times a day, and shout at them if I see them doing it, then put them in the garden, and Molly is getting cleaner, but it is the older dog Bes who is the main problem. And when Bess wees, it is a flood :o. She used to whine and scratch at the back door if she wanted out, but is just weeing by the back door now more often than not :o It wwwould be ok if I could leave the back door open for them, but it is too cold for that, and it is tipping it down with rain right now

Anyway, I was jusst coming off the phone after a lovely chat to Kit & Steve on Monday night, when Bess walked out of the kitchen after having a drink, and wee'd in hall between kitchen and sitting room. I sshouted to tell her off and put her into the garden with the door closed while I mopped it up and disinfected the floor. After a while I let her back in, got myself a bottle of fruit cider, poured myself a glass, and settled down to come online. Both dogs tried to jump on my knee together and I pushed them away, and Molly happened to knock over the glass and bottle all over the table and floor ............. and I went into meltdown. I was shouting at the dogs then shouting that 'I can't cope with all this', and crying my eyes out. I eventually mopped up the floor with towels and then put them in to wash. I felt so depressed and alone :o When I settled again, I gave the dogs cuddles each as the poor things didn't know what was going on and were just watching me

Problem is, this is what I used to be like before I went on antidepresssants a few years ago, breaking down in tears at the lightest thing, and I am now on quite strong AD's which have got me through the past few months very well up till now. In fact, at times, I felt that they were 'helping' me too much, cutting out my feelings a bit too much

The other thing troubling me is that, despite catching that last mouse, there are signs of others still here. I have so much stuff lying about, it is hard to clear it all when I just don't have the motivation, but having the piles of clutter is what is demotivating me also. Catch 22 situation, and it is all getting on top of me. I was really good when I was away, in good company, but not so good now :(

I HAVE to declutter and that means throwing loads of stuff out. Stuff that I may want in the future, but just haven't got space for now. I will have to be ruthless :(

Thinking of you 3dogs! I am forever trying to keep up with this thread but always notice that you have something nice to say or some kind words for the people that need them and I hope the a our is returned massively to you :) can only imagine what you are going through and I sympathise with the dog thing completely, it is bl**dy annoying when they are naughty and I've found myself in the same situation of breaking down because it's like they are trying to wind you up by doing things they know not to do and you've had a rough day so please don't feel bad, we all do it :)

Also know the whole clearing out thing too well at the moment, my baby was due yesterday and for the past few months I've been trying to clear out enough room for him and thrown away sooo much stuff, probably not enough and as long as people don't buy him anything when he is here it'll be ok :rotfl: do you have the room to clear an entire room out and only put back what you need? Found that with my bathroom I only put back in the stuff I always use and found I had so many things that were just nice to look at or on a good glitch etc and clearing it out made me realise that it's not money saving if it's not going to be used and I might as well be buying cheap cat food for the cats I don't have  hope that you are able to overcome everything soon and everything works out well for you, tomorrow is another day :)
