Morning. A lovely and sunny, but cold day in Bmth.

Haven't read any of the shenanigans from last night, why would I do that to myself???

This mornings task is to try to get to grips with Avios points. I'm trying to sort a family holiday to Italy for next year and need to get as many points asap!! Is there an idiots guide on mse? I've looked on pts and asked there, so hopefully, some kind soul will take pity on me, who is struggling to understand it all!!

Have a lovely day everyone, remember, we won't have a chance to live today again, so make it a good one!!!

    ps, Andy Murray's doing well!!

    Short guide:

    1. get a credit card that gives Avios points. Tesco credit card to convert through clubcard points or one of the american express ones that are linked to BA
    2. shop in Tesco and convert clubcard point to Avios, but wait till they do extra miles offers.
    3. Shell petrol stations have an airmiles scheme as do a lot of the global hotel chains.
    4. Fly british airways.

Our previous controllers we programmed to come on in morning and evening, I could change the time and duration no problem. This one if you want it timed has to come on and go off 3 times a day or stay on all day as this is how it was set up by installer and you can't change it. Neither are good for us as we work full time. We want to set it to come on in morning and evening and then just be able to press a button for it to come on when we need outside of that. You have to set each day separately, set the temperature for each day, and have it coming on 3 times which we don't need.

To turn the heating on say right now I have to increase the temperature on the controller and then press boost which means it comes on for an hour then goes off - hardly ideal.

Would we have to have the boiler and thermostat changed if we wanted the controller changed?

    Hi FloFlo,

The good news is you can change the controller without messing with anything else. I don't think the controllers cost much but obviously you also need to get it fitted. At one time we had a similar controller on our Central Heating and I set it to come on in the middle part of the day at a really low temperature eg 5degrees, that way it actually rarely came on. I still did find it a pain and got it changed when some other electrical work was being done.

Look on the bright side you must have lots of space, whereas we have none
just catching up. this has to be the post of the day (yesterday):rotfl:
  • Well, had a quick look back - doen's read too badly but I have 3 people on my ignore list so that probably helps!

Saw peeps discussing the Reloaded and Beanz. OH asked me why we have so many of each when we don't get through many, he laughed when I informed him that I was being paid to "buy" them!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously hoping ds will be around before too long so I can send him away with some Beanz! Reloaded will be handy for Christmas so no problem with that! And it stacks quite nicely (normally!) unlike the Beanz!

Anyway, I have to get on, might see you later if I get on before the bickering starts!

We kept the same boiler, just the controller was changed and wired in by an electrician.

    You and me both:cool:
Morning everyone:)Bright & sunny here but a bit chilly. I can't be doing these late nights that you late shift do, I'd never get up in the morning! I thought you were supposed to need less sleep as you got older, I've gone the other way I think:o
Off to A's & T's later but need a bit of help because I've done something really daft:o Last night I was looking at the smilies and downloaded Funmoods(Zemgoogs) I know,I know why did I do it! But I was concentrating on the thread and wasnt really taking much notice of what I was doing!I can't remember how many times I've read not to download it because its a nightmare to get rid of. Now its on my toolbar, I'm getting rubbish everytime I go into a browser, it's driving me insane.I've run a malware doo daa but I can't even uninstall it because its not showing!..Please help me if you can, feel so embarrassed, why did I do it!:o:o

If you go to control panel and uninstall programs. you can see by the date they were installed which ones fall into yesterday's category. and just uninstall. also a good program to download is decrapify or something like that which also identifies rubbish
