    Fab photos MWC :T:T:T.

May need some advice some time - DS has got three chickens so I now have three grandchicks :rotfl:. As to what breed they are - em, one is blue, one is white and one red so am sure that is obvious to you :D.

  • After a busy couple of weeks and lots of late nights since returning from Portugal, I needed a lazy day to recharge my batteries... that day was yesterday :T I didn't get dressed :o

Today was a bit busier - walked into town to buy groceries and a birthday present or 3 for Mr MWC, cleaned the chicken coop, deadheaded & weeded, mowed the lawn, 3 loads of laundry etc.

  • I got all excited when Mr MWC told me that Miss Q was broody :j I thought that I better check for myself before buying some hatching eggs and I'm not so sure :(

In money-related news, I've used the power of social media to get a refund for a faulty shirt that I bought 5 years ago (and had never worn as I thought it was my bodyshape that was faulty - it was only after dropping 2 dress sizes and it still didn't fit properly that I realised that the front panels were different sizes...). The refund isn't as much as I think I paid for it (although it could have been on offer I suppose) but it's more than the measly £10 GV they initially offered, it's cash and TBH I was just going to bin it :)

Things are really (REALLY) quiet at work and I'll be pleasantly surprised if I still have a job at the end of the year :( I must start reducing my miscellaneous outgoings just in case...

MWC, I had a wild ride at work just recently and questioned whether I would have a job in a few months. Would you get redundancy? Do you mind? Either way, make sure you look after your mental health as well as your finances :D
    Baby Step 1 - £1k Emergency Fund - COMPLETE
Baby Step 2 - Pay off all debts except the Mortgage - £9,326 to go
Baby Step 3 - Save 6 months of expenses into full Emergency Fund - £4,300 to go

Baby Step 4 - Put 15% into Pension
Baby Step 6 - Pay off the Mortgage early
    Baby Step 7 - Live like no-one else :D
  • Yes, I'd get redundancy and I wouldn't particularly miss it as the job is boring. The only downside that I can see is that it would be very difficult to find a job that pays as well and that would have a knock on effect on my 10 year retirement plan :(
