Day 8 - Lofthus - Elvadalen walk - walking in the clouds and more waterfalls
and Fruit Trail (south) and the church (9.5 km)

WOW! MWC those pictures are ace!
I can almost feel the spray from the waterfall on Day 7. Hear the roar of the river on Day 8, and I have to say that I love the church picture. It has 'another world' context about it - you could be in any area of the globeFabulous

On Day 8? Or today? Don't you wear your feet out, young lady, you'll need 'em again for another day.....

Day 9 - Lofthus - The Monks' Steps to Nosi (11 km)
Very tough walk and very wet for the first couple of hours
Steep, steady walk up to 650 m above sea level followed by a strenuous climb up 616 rock steps to 800 masl. That's when my phobia of falling off mountain ledges kicked in and I failed to make it up to Nosi (a further 150 masl)
A steep descent through forests - just as well my bottom has plenty of padding as I landed on it several times :rotfl:Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

Day 10 - Lofthus - Fruit Trail (north) and Skredhaugen Folk Museum (8 km)
Folgefonna glacier in the distance
Late afternoon we transferred to back to Bergen - Lofthus to Norheimsund by ferry and then on to Bergen by bus.
Last day - Day 11 - Bergen
A scorcher  so we cheated and took the funicular up Mount Floien!
I can't believe that this time last month we were in Norway - it seems forever ago already - it really was a fabulous holiday even if the walks were much tougher than expected!Mortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000

MWC - I am so enjoying these pics
I was just looking at the houses - in your 'Day 8' and in the bigger city of Bergen - there is much colour - much more than I think we would see if we were looking at a similar scene in the UK. Do you know if there is a reason why the houses are so colourful? I did ponder (more especially in the winter snow) if it had anything to do with identification? Enabling you to work out your bearings/location?
Were those cherries on the ground around the 'Nosi' sign? And what was the fruit being grown in rows on the Fruit Trail please?
Did you have lots of memorable meals? Or perhaps one or two? I should imagine fish was pretty high on the agenda
Thank you MWC - it's no mean feat to have loaded all those pics up - Thank you again
Utterly, utterly lovely

Also loving the pics :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Sorry AWOL again...
Lovely day with extended family on Sunday followed by a 2-day business trip to Yorkshire and 17,500 steps/day - there aren't enough hours in the day - normal business should be resumed next week as I need to get back on track
Here you go Mr GG
