Oh my god this sounds amazing!! May have to try this (when i'm not dieting!)
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

  • Well done on the egg production. Do you think it is cost effective to keep chickens if you aren't in it for the love of chickens? Not particularly an animal person but like the sound of the eggs!

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Absolutely not Squirrel - well not here anyway - even if I write off the one-off costs of the chicken coop (£555), the chicken run (£1,038), and the chickens (£14-£18 each), the money I make selling the eggs doesn't cover the cost of the feed and treats. I am not :money: when it come to The Girls!

Do I regret the money I've spent on The Girls? Absolutely not - chickens are the best pets in the world and their eggs taste so much better than shop bought eggs :D

I don't "diet" but I use myfitnesspal to log my cals for the day and if I have spare I do baked bananas - works best if they are riper, split them, add a drizzle of honey and a dash of cinnamon and slam in the oven for ten mins. V few calories but a yummy dessert!
