I can save £336 per year if i switch from swalec to first utility according to u switch and yahoo.
should I trust these sites?
I pay £1300 per year for both, so bills will come down to £1000.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

My current WebSaver12 with British Gas is up and First Utility is coming up as the cheapest (iSave v12). But, I'm thinking the iSave Fixed v4 March 2014 might be a wise move.

But, I've no idea what First Utility are like and have never moved supplier before, so I'm interested to hear peoples thoughts.

I went with u switch £40 back for using them.
I have just bit the bullet and jumped across to them, as i said to my wife, all of the suppliers have good and bad.

I went isave 14 (2 winters) fixed rate, cant see prices going down.
  • I've just signed up with them too and I've never, ever switched before. We should save £281.49 and although we will have to pay an exit fee of £60 if we leave them before 2014 I'm quite relaxed about it.

£281.49 will pay the car tax for a year and give us change so it's worth having :T

The sites are perfectly accurate as long as you feed them with kWh figures and not monthly DD fgures.
I suggest you do a forum search on FU, plenty of billing and service issues.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I had a couple of years with them. The prices were good at first but then they introduced new (better) tariffs but of course didn't tell me. I moved about a year ago. They were pretty rubbish when I tried to contact them but I liked the idea of sending them a monthly reading (or you could take their estimate).
  • I've just bit the bullett and made the move from BG Online Saver to isave fixed 2014 as it will save me money and fix the price for two winters.

I've never had an issue with an energy provider before and hopefully my time with First Utility will be the same.

How do you get £40 from using uswitch?

FU are possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. We've had an ongoing billing issue with them since April 2011 that is still not resolved. I think this company's initials are a message to their customers..

Yes, I've gone with the 2 yr fixed prices aswell, I can't see the prices going down. Some have mentioned issues, hopefully they've got their act together, I expect alot of people will be moving to them.

I went with moneysupermarket.com and should be getting £30 cashback :(

    Thanks
