tom tom and payg

I bought a tom tom 910 with free 1 month Tom Tom Plus for updates traffic etc. If it worked for me then I would have subscribed.

Next I bought a Samsung D600 on Ebay as my mobile does not have bluetooth and is not one of the mobiles listed by Tom Tom to set up wireless connection.

I spent ages trying to get system to work. It would load to about 65% but then fail.

Eventually, and it took me some searching I made my way through the Tom Tom FAQ and found a telephone number. They told me that I could not operate on Pay as you Go !!

Help and suggestions, Please.

Firstly if the phone does not have Bluetooth it won't work full stop but a quick Google shows it does have Bluetooth V1.2.

The reason some PAYG Phones don't work is that they give you access to WAP only and not full GPRS Internet which is what the TTG requires. However you can use Orange PAYG as that does give full Internet Access over GPRS. The phones are a bit temperamental on what is supported. I currently used an old Nokia 6230i with Orange PAYG on my TTG 910 and it works a treat.
