I thought the OP says she's a volunteerAs for concrete floor board, all you need is to cover it. You can get cheap adhesive cover
To be fair we're talking about someone on the lowest income imaginable, probably without cheap transport and with the extra expenditure of 'moving' as well as the cost of going shopping for items that have to come within the limits of anything allowed for.
Dunno what that cheap adhesive cover is but in those circumstances it may seem less cheap, to say nothing of the added inconvenience of a separate trip to a hardware store while there are other things to do.
As for why it's carpet, that need not cost any more than lino. Isn't it just an expression? Could be lino....could be whatever limited resources will pay for.0 -

The OP needs more training, its not acceptable to ask on forums for advice to help clients.0 -

of course it is, Judges do it all the time, well maybe not ask on a forum but they do go and research case law etc and part of the QC's job is to quote case law to a judge (to reminder him/her) to support their case.
Doctors do it too, some even get the book out whilst the patient is sitting in front of them.
It's called research, no one knows everything about their role.
I wouldn't mind but the OP has covered all bases it seems and is only asking on here for any ideas.
If anyone needs to learn their jbo better it's the person that turned down a parent with a small child down for carpeting when it is within the rules to claim such a thing.0 -
The only point I was trying to make is that I don't see how carpeting is an essential need just because a baby is crawling because my children and others I know managed to go though these months just fine on uneven hard floors. This does not extend to any comment on this person's status and reasons for claiming which from the little information provided seems totally legitimate.0

you may have been lucky but all the places I've had, the flooring has not been suitable for a baby crawling on it without sanding or carpeting, splinters, gaps, sharp edges.0 -
Poundland sells adhesive carpet squares. £1 for 1msq. Perhaps this would be an option? They also do adhesive linoleum, again in 1msq packs. With 2 children, assuming she's unemployed, she'll be getting ~£210 per week in benefits, excluding housing benefit and council tax benefit, so this should be more than affordable.0

why not, surely if a Judge has to do research why would you expect someone that is unpaid to have a better knowledge than someone that could lead to their client being killed in some countries or imprisoned for life in this one, surely if anyone needs to know their facts it's the Judge and QC.
A random person on here is more than capable of pointing the OP in the right direction and providing sources if needed but as it turns out the OP has done all she could in the first place and has only asked on here as a last ditch attempt.0 -

Precedent is reliable authority, it is always going to be an accurate source of information. No member of the legal profession knows the intricacies of every case, it would be impossible to do so.
No one has suggested that the OP should have a better knowledge than a judge, but rather they should look to a more reliable source of information.0
