if the parts were over £800 they would have replaced the boiler, they wouldn't spend that amount on a decent boiler let alone a crap oneI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

As in my op they wanted to replace the boiler but with a contribution from myself, when the guy phoned I asked for a list of parts that were required but he said he was unable to pass this on untill the repair has been completed, fyi I will ask the engineer for a list of parts, I will update you further when I know more. As for a crap boiler, it has served me well for over 7 years.0 -
good luck with getting a list or a cost of the replaced parts i very much doubt that you will get it & tbh why should you, as long as your boiler is fixed then really thats all you need to know, 7 yrs then you are one of the lucky ones, hopefully it keeps going for a while yet cause you may find after 10 yrs you aren't covered but that depends on individal policies & they still won't spend £800 on one repair.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

southcoastrgi wrote: »thank you, however you are misinformed, corgi homecare use local RGI's so they are independant, they have to supply all their own materials & then bill corgi, corgi doesn't supply anything, the RGI can get the materials from where ever they wish & some just use one merchant, corgi don't survey the installation before signing the customer up to the plan that is left to the RGI to fill out a fact sheet that is then passed to corgi for future info, due to the cost of a replacement boiler replacing parts & getting the boiler working is number one on the list, however two weeks does seem a long time.
How can you be truly independent if you are answerable to Corgi?

Your powers of deduction, are, once again, faulty: I won't go into the minutiae to sate your 'curiosity'.
If you don't have a problem with the poaching of your boiler service customers (by service plan providers or manufacturers), who must have their Remehas serviced annually to maintain the warranty that is your prerogative. As we're are into the realms of idle speculation, perhaps the number of boilers you have installed since Building Regulations Compliance was introduced has been 'minimal' or you don't notify your installations, then it wouldn't impact on your 'business' model.;)
OP: start saving for that day when your tetchy boiler is beyond economical repair or your service plan provider drops your cover. Good luck with the repairs: almost two weeks without a functioning boiler despite paying for boiler cover is appalling, but sadly a frequent occurrence as documented by posts on these forums and elsewhere. I'll stick with my trusted local RGI, as that works best for me.0 -

5 x 12 x £16.99 = £1020 ishsouthcoastrgi wrote: »& they still won't spend £800 on one repair.
not being an engineer I can only relay what was passed onto me, I agree @ £800 it seems quite excessive and a boiler replacement imo would have been a better option.

as a sub contractor exactly the same way as if you work for a builder.Your powers of deduction, are, once again, faulty: I won't go into the minutiae to sate your 'curiosity'.

as normal you avoid actually answering the question & all you are doing is getting on your high horse about stuff you have read, why is it any different to buying a new car the garage will send you offers to extend the warentee & remind you that a service is done after so many miles you don't have to get them to do it as long as the book is stamped by a garage thats fine, corgi along with BG offer a monthly plan for people like the OP who can't afford a bill for a repair but can afford a monthly fee, so in your case you save your £16-99 a month in the hope that when you need a repair you have saved enough & if you haven't then you need to get your wallet out, the OP does exactly the same as you every month but doesn't have to pay any more money, yes i agree that two weeks is too long to wait & i haven't said otherwise.
every boiler manifacturer req an annual service & the benchmark book filled out to maintain their warrentee not just Remeha, oh & just for your info i have fitted & reg 6 boilers in the last 8 wksI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

So you agree then, to be truly independent you work directly for a customer.
