Car Servicing Costs

I live in the Birmingham area and have just been quoted £214 plus vat for the annual service on my Seat Altea 1.9 TDi.Does anybody know where it can be done cheaper? Can I go to any VW group garage eg Skoda or VW or will that be dearer?

Toyota Birmingham quoted £210 plus vat for a 2yr service.

This query would be better on the MOTORING board, you can have it serviced at any VAT registered garage that uses genuine parts, it does not have to be serviced at a dealership, even if it is under warranty

£200 odd + VAT seems pretty reasonable to me, providing the job's done properly. Turbo diesels need looking after.

You could take your car anywhere to have it serviced - not just a VW group garage. You might be able to find a VW specialist who could do it cheaper, but 200 ish plus VAT is not extreme, and pretty much in line with most main dealer servicing costs.
