The Polish sausages -Kabanos? and chorizo are both really tasty, in fact I think most of the meat products are good value.

Washing powder is great but you need to add it straight into the drum with the clothes & set machine to a programme without prewash! My w.machine engineer told me you should always put the powder into drum to stop pipes etc. getting clogged. I've done this ever since & have had no problems.

Their vanilla icecream is fantastic. The best I ever tasted and is often on special for 1.99 for a 2l container (regular price 2.99)

I love Lidl, but sceptically bought their tea, I am pretty sure it was 29p but I could have been looking at the wrong label. Anyway, the tea is great, no funny after taste.

Free Range eggs at 78p per half dozen.

Yep, we always buy our Free Range eggs from there too, about 30p cheaper than Tesco's or Asda.

I forgot to add on my previous post that the Praline chocolates are also very nice too (individual pieces in what looks like a bar), I think it's called Schotten or something, 39p each I believe, lots of choices, the Praline Noisette one is my favourite.

i much prefer lidl to aldi, as they have a much better/wider range of stuff.

you have to try things to find out if you like them. we're still working our way through their products to find out what we like and what we dont. i still cant get over how much further our money goes there than in other supermarkets

we are big fans of their sliced meat and cheese, continental breads, meat and basic tinned pantry goods (tomatoes, beans, tuna etc). the big pots of yoghurt (about 70-80p) are divine

the bad... you have to remember to take a pound coin for the trolley and carrier bags.

the ugly - they have no real till space to speak of, and once they've scanned your goods they go onto a little shelf. which isnt a problem in itself. the fact that they scan 90 items a second, regardless of whether there is anyone in the queue behind you, is. i dont appreciate having my items chucked at me by tesco checkout staff when there's the whole great big shelf between us, and i certainly dont appreciate it when all shopping is precariously balanced on a pokey little shelf

The bad for me is not having baskets to shop with, I often drop in there on route cycling home from work, I always have to struggle carrying stuff or try to find a box whilst in there, why can't they have baskets, they don't cost that much to manufacture surely, and if it's case that they get stolen then implement a £1 deposit scheme on them like you would with a trolley.

Aldi Norpak ~ like lurpak spreadable, but a heck of a lot cheaper.
They do a chocolate bar same colour packaging as Cadbury Dairy milk, a lot cheaper, (49p) but really smooth and creamy.
The vacuum pieces of roast/cooked ham are really nice as well (especially the maple glazed one),

Lidl strong flour very good value ~ can't remember the price though.

I don't like the fresh mince or for that matter steak at Aldi, seems to have a strange taste to me and my family.

    The tinned ham is good
    Fruit juices are good
Fruit loaf i used to really like but it changed about 1 year ago and is now only OK.
The hygine products (bathroom stuff) see to be just as good as the run of the mill dearer brands.
Used to like the breakfast packs but got sick of them and very rarely have one now.
