  • Good morning everyone :)

I love the mum's strike article and will be sending that to lots of people I know, especially the ones who spend half their lives cleaning up after their children.

I still haven't decided what to do with the sofa but think I have found the undercushion support that I need, all I need to do now is find one in the right size, it's a four seater sofa but only has 2 cushions so definitely not a standard size. I don't think I can buy the correct size covers because of the awkward shape and am not up to making new covers, I don't have a sewing machine and I think it would take too long to do by hand so we may use "tucked in" throws or something similar. Anything that would tidy it up a bit will be a huge bonus.

Slow cooker on for tonight's dinner of chicken and then left over meals over the weekend. Managed to add a few whoopsies to freezer last night by going shopping late. Have also discovered that Iceland sells self bake ciabatta rolls at 2 packs of 4 for £1. I prefer home made bread but these are a great store cupboard standby for dinners or lunches.

Well wishes for sick people and pets, congratulations for new jobs and babies, hugs for everyone feeling down in the dumps.

    Have a super day :)

  • Morning all! Another busy one for me today, off to M&S to pick up a dine in for a tenner (got a voucher, and chickens and cheese selection are both in! Yum!) Then getting stuff ready for ebay free listings this weekend. Then it's off to work and finishing off OH's CV this evening.

Loving the mum on strike article!

Hugs to those who want or need one x (((hug)))

    Morning all,

Come on baby we are all waiting

Have to stay in today as expecting my m&s vouchers for when I moved to sky and you have to sign for them. This will be the second attempt to deliver so just dashed in the shower like a nutcase in case I miss the postman. Unlikely I know as they rarely deliver before lunch. Do you remember when your post was waiting when you got out of bed, those were the days.
So washing on and the dryer:o got no choice it's bedding and chucking it down.
Dh should be home by lunch and we want to pop and get a couple more Xmas pressies and do some food shopping this afternoon. Almost finished with presents, just the wrapping to do. We got our etickets yesterday so getting very excited about our trip:eek: about 8 wks I think.
JackieO congrats to Ben. Our youngest needs some kind of job. He will hang on until we come back from Oz and then he needs to really get stuck in to looking. He too is at 6th form. I also pay for his phone but really can't afford to be giving him money every two mins so hopefully he will find something.
Going to have a restful morning and have breakfast stroke lunch about 11. This way I only need one meal in the day and it helps with my weight loss I do have a big meal though, two eggs and three slices of toast.
anyway better get on, have a good day all x

Morning all hope everyone is ok, hugs where wanted and or needed

Good luck Lou, hopefully wont be much longer.

    How is Maud feeling today?

Wet on the ground as it poured here most of the night. I did have to giggle when I looked out the bedroom window as my neighbour never has wshing on the line when it is dry/blowy/bright but as soon as its not so nice weather 3 lines appear and stay there till they eventually dry. Is that me just being childish ;)

Ds4 is off school again. He has a sicky bug and running a temp of 39.4:eek:, so he is still fast asleep after being up and down most of the night. Had to change his bedding at about 2 am as he vomited everywhere_pale__pale_. Will leave him to get up in his own time.

So sheets are blowing on the line as its dry atm.

Making a cherry and coconut cake for my hairdresser as she is fantastic at cutting hair but not so good at baking cakes and she is so good at fitting us in if one of us need it inbetween our normal appointments, example she opened the shop up for dd at 7.30 one morning in the summer so she could have her hair done before going off on holiday with her friends .

Dinner will be shepherds pie with veg and rice pud for later on.

So all in all it should be a nice quiet day

General housework to do , have to look for a carpet runner for the hallway as its laminated and getting a tad chilly underfoot

In service day at school today and I don't have much to do so thought I would have a look on here!!

Packed up the car last night with DS2s GFs belongings to take to Southampton where she is doing her Masters. DD was a star, I would never have got everything in but she re-packed a lot of the boxes and it fits. Just finished when DS2 phoned and asked if we had her bike in! Guess what is now on the back of the car? When I finish work (3pm) I have to collect DS2 from Edinburgh and then start the long drive to Basingstoke where I will stay with my DB and family, home again on Sunday.

    Well done to Ben JackieO.
Enjoyed that link Molly, I think we have all been there!
Lou - Hope everything's going ok, baby out vibes to you.
Hester - I hope you get danger money!

Anyway, have a good weekend everyone, see you when I return. Take care. XX

Morning all - waiting for Mum + sister to arrive to declutter the bedroom. I complained to the council on Monday that they hadn't emptied our recycling bin and now they've removed it completely, so all catfood tins etc are going in the normal bin until further notice. Basic pizzas for lunch; beyond that, nothing planned as DH is out tonight.
