  • Oh plus £70 change of booking fee, so £150 total ?! Waste. Going to ring them in 35min given exceptional circumstances

I hope they can put you on the Liverpool flight. When I looked up rail fare from Luton it was over £100.

Other Berlin flights can be found via the airport link I posted, with BA, Lufthansa, Air Berlin (AB) or German Wings (4U). Some flights from Tegel, inc direct at 7 am Sat

I even thought about Flybe from Hannover to Manchester. 180 euro but cheaper rail fare 53.

    See bahn.com for trains

Great advice for the OP, I hope they make the Liverpool flight.

If they don't, maybe look at National Express instead of train - assuming price is more important than time - single from Luton Airport to Manchester Coach Station is between £35 & £38 pp.

    Good luck

ask easyjet if they'll let her fly with copy of police report and other ID.
Then the problem shifts to the UK end, and immigration have procedures for this situation (happens often).

I lost my passport in spain, didn't realise til I got to the airport. Easyjet let me fly with a copy of the police report and a 'permission to fly' form faxed from the embassy in the UK. They interviewed me over the phone, then faxed to copy to easyjet. I had to show this form to immigration on arrival where I had another short interview and that was it. Home!

    Hey guys thanks so much

Flying to manc from schonfield (sp?)

Can't get through to easyjet or my own insurance company.

She made it clear to the insurance that it was stolen. Unfortunately she has the small print but only on email & we're using free wifi and she cannot find it on her phone.

Flying to London may be an option.

Cheapest flights we've found are sat 7am for £74? total and 3-4* hotel £30~ so not bad...don't think there's easyjet flights tomorrow after our 1025am one to manc at least. Then there's train cost to manc...

Thank god for free wifi & helpful staff & you guys

She's just been saying how she had a bad or odd feeling about this holiday and strangely there have been a few bumps along the way, quite eery, and then this

Plan is ring easyjet tomorrow & head to embassy at least

Easyjet may let you transfer the tickets to the next available for a fee if one of you goes to the airport and shows the Police report.
But get there in time for Check In. Your girlfriend can go to the embassy on her own and you can meet later. At least you can spend the extra cash on actually staying in Berlin, rather than on new tickets.
  • Hey guys, we managed to get the 1740 to l'pool for the £77 odd with the £70 change of flight fee waived ! Gf has emergency passport from
Embassy at 120€ which hopefully insurance refunds

It's been a mad hectic stressful few days even before this and we can't wait to get our knackered sleep deprived bodies home !

    People here have been lovely

And thank you people for the advice I never knew about the easyjet policy and that bit of knowledge has been a lifeline & one that I'll add to my repertoire

Tried booking tiks from l'pool south parkway via buytickets but fOr some reason it doesn't come down on the dropdown menu for cillection from the machine ? Only l'pool lime st showing? Odd. But tiks work out £13.50 each from l'pool to Mcr airport so hope we can get that price buying directly from the office now !

Glad to hear it's working out.

I didn't know their policy either but managed to find those couple of pages.

That rail price is anytime single, so will be same for a walk-up.

Why Manchester Airport? Is your car there?

It would have been tricky for you to make use of this (and looks like you're sorted anyway) but for a £60 "rescue fee", easyJet offers to rebook passengers to the next available flight provided they show up at the airport within 2 hours of the original flight's departure time.

I'm disturbed that your insurer cannot be contacted when you need them. Would you care to "name and shame"?

Oh: and the consular section of the Embassy should have ways to contact your insurer (and possibly Easyjet as well).

First post says OP is insured with Fluid (not heard of them).

OP - agree with Voyager that it's shocking you can't get through to your insurer. They should have a 24 hour claims line. Suggest you switch at renewal!
