We got some brand new laptops at work a couple of years ago. Within 2 weeks of getting one a full cup of hot coffee went on the keyboard and soaked through. I pulled the battery and ran to the loo where i flushed it with some water - loads of sugar in the coffee. We had a compressor and air lines so was able to blow out all the excess water. I placed it near a heating vent and left it for 24hrs. Next day came into work and put the battery in & fired up. It wanted to do a disk check as it had not shutdown correctly so I let it and when finished it came up as if nothing was wrong. Boss never found out, & the lappy was fine, which was a result as the first thing he said when handing them out was to do with drinks being spilt & disiplinary.
It was a dell & since then I have always recommended them.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0 -
In my experience almost all liquids corrode eventually. Even if it works properly it should be stripped down and cleaned as thoroughly as possible.0
