Seller isn't in Hull is he? Same happened to me...and when I returned it, it apparently 'got lost'...so I lost out big time!
you should be able to claim some money back from Royal Mail, give them a call, i think Recorded Parcels are insured up to £50.
You'll have an annoying form to fill out but you could result in getting some money back, even if it isn't from an original source0 -

Paying by bank transfer is a big no. You return the item they have the item and your money.

I haven't posted the item back and I am not doing until I get my refund have spoken to Trading standards they have decided to pursue it now onto my next step, hopefully I will get a result0

Yes the seller sent me an invoice with this information on sent recorded delivery they've already told me I can go to small claims court0
