I like the Old Town area of Albufeira which is a lovely area with a beach and loads of restaurants. Just avoid the newer part of town (known as "The Strip") which is full of drunken 18-30s.0

We are staying here in December. Brilliant location.
Restaurant prices are very reasonable,we did own breakfast and lunch and ate out in the evenings. About €10-12 for a very acceptable meal.
Big supermarket next to Brisa Sol. Everyone but everyone seems to speak English.......even the beggers at the top of the escalators to the beach.0 -
Strangely enough my wife was just looking at the same hotel about 5 mins before coming back to forum. Would u recommend doing a package or booking seperate?0

We went to the Cerro Mar Colina in Old Town Albufeira.
Was a gorgeous 4 star- far enough out to avoid the lager louts, but close enough to be a relaxing hol close to the attractions.
Has a couple of large pools and is close to the beach with some delightful little restaurants.
You've got to go to Aqualand and the other one, Zoomarine. We also went on an all day catamaran boat trip which stopped next to a beach you could only get to by boat... Was lovely!
Well recommended!0 -
Hi we have booked separate flights and accomodation at the Almar in Albufeira 27th Oct for a week. We have only been to Portugal once (Villamoura) but did visit Albufeira one day. We are hoping there are some nice restaurants and good bars with some 70s music for the evenings0

Hi as it gets closer just realised implications of just booking carry on 10kg and not checked in luggage. I am going to have to buy sun creams (tons in stock)! Does anyone know if it will be cheaper to buy in Boots at Liverpool airport or wait and buy in Albufeira in a supermarket. I understand that even a mascara will have to go through in a clear plastic bag? Normally things like this would just be put in my suitcase. Thanks0

Not sure what the cost would be in Liverpool airport Boots - but depending on what you want - we found suncream to be anything from 10 - 12 euros and upwards, depending on where you looked - that was around the strip in Albufeira and in Montechoro.0 -
I think I will try Boots. I will have to get my Husband razors. Can I carry aerosol deodorants through or will I have to purchase these in Boots too? Thanks0
