Vueling

We all like to complain about Easy Jet and Ryan Air but I have now discovered that Vueling is by far the worst. All three charge for extras such as suitcases, booking seats, booking fees, etc etc and to be honest when you travel with a budget airline you sort of expect it, however Ryan Air and Easy Jet do not charge premium rate numbers when things go wrong!
It cost me £62.47 to sort out a flight that Vueling cancelled.
I think it is so wrong that you have to pay premium rates to contact Vueling, they ignore e mails so you have no option but to phone them, they probably make more money out of cancelling flights than they do in actually running the flights, the call centre is obviously over stretched as it takes so long to get through, but perhaps that’s why they do it, the longer we spend in a queue to speak to them the more money they make so it’s not in their interest to provide good customer service. (or actually to provide the flight!)
If you look at the airline contact numbers on the Heathrow website you will see that of all the airlines that fly out of Heathrow only 3 charge premium rate numbers for their contact centers! (Vueling, Brussels and German wings)
Has anyone got any ideas how to get through to vueling, without paying premium rates? I am still waiting for a reply to the emails i sent on 24 September!!!

On their website there is a contact number in Spain
Sales and service center:+34931 518 158
It would be much cheaper to ring there (Barcelona) using a cheap calling company than calling at Premium rates.

The above worked for me (after a lot of effort). I will never use them again0 -
Just to add to this discussion one of my older relatives recently booked a flight on Vueling's new route from Heathrow to Palma (Majorca) but then after booking realised that during the online booking process there was no way for them to request a wheelchair to reach the gate (my relative can still walk short distances of a few feet but not the enormous distances required at many major airports)
Imagine their shock on discovering that Vueling's only officially documented way to request a wheelchair at www.vueling.com/en/vueling-services/prepare-your-trip/passengers-with-special-needs/ is to call their Reservations Centre by phone on a 77.34p per minute 0906 number of 0906 7547541 This is clearly illegal under both UK DDA legislation and equivalent EU Directives. A 20 minute call to book a wheelchair for a return flight could easily cost £15. Just the kind of charging to book a wheel chair that Ryanair lost a major legal case over. And having checked the Ryanair website at www.ryanair.com/en/questions/how-do-i-advise-ryanair-of-my-condition-or-request-special-assistance all facilities for the disabled can be booked for free online and it is only to have a portable oxygen cylinder next to your seat on board (something that Ryanair probably want to ask you lots of health questions about and can also legally still charge extra for) that you have to telephone Ryanair and even then only on 10p per minute 0871 number.
It seems that wheelchairs can in practice be booked with Vueling by ringing their customer service centre in Spain using services such as 1899 and 18185 at only 1p per minute using the number of 00 34 931 518 158 listed on the Spanish equivalent to www.saynoto0870.com at http://wiki.nmn900.net/Vueling But that is not the point as if Vueling had their way they would be price gouging customers with a £10+ call to book a wheelchair.:mad:
This is a great shame as in many other ways Vueling is a much better airline than Ryanair or Easyjet more like the old BA created GO Fly but their policy on telephone contact cost is quite absud and abusive to its customers.
More discussion on this can be found at www.saynoto0870.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1368104483
Also in addition to the email addresses listed above to avoid the ripoff 0906 phone number you can also Tweet Vueling's CEO @alex_cruz and their customer services @VuelingClients0 -
Its handy for such occasions to have an emergency backup voip package installed on your pc or smartphone.
I have used https://www.voipcheap.co.uk to make many which would otherwise be expensive calls abroad and from abroad back home, for pennies.
In this instance, calling the landline (sayno number)00 34 931 518 158 would have been FREE but even a Spanish mobile is only 5p per minute
