Has anyone been clamped, since the 1st October?

Not watching TV, and not buying the papers very often, I often miss things happening in the world.
I'm just wondering if there has been a case yet, of the police nicking someone for illegal clamping/towing?

No-one has been on here or pepipoo.com as yet. Of course there is total anarchy and mass riots at the ppc car parks because of this.
Only joking.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Just like it's been in Scotland for the last 20 years! What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
My employers have still got signs up threatening to remove vehicles and only return them for a fee. I have told them they need to be removed, but I guess bunch of lawyers knows better than I do?!0

If the sign is PCN/Clamping combined then they have breathing space for about another year - note that this doesn't legalise it for them. If it is clamping only then they are committing an offence. But to be honest with you, I've seen lots of such notices but these tend to be where threats are empty so I imagine the landowner is either not in league with goings on or someone has simply forgotten about these boards.
If I were you, I'd blow the whistle, why not? You've nothing to lose!0 -

No - it's just clamping. Just one they put up themselves. They've never had authority to actually clamp, or employed the services of a licensed clamper. It's always been just an empty threat.0 -
In that case, yes they are in breach of law. Even a pub cark park with a sign reading "Customers only - all other vehicles shall be clamped" is displaying this sign illegally. I don't know how your relationship with your employer is but if it isn't good, by all means raise the issue!0

Where would you report such a sign to?0
