Organic food in supermarkets

Kirri, doesn't the A&C website tell you where fruit/veg comes from - certainly does for anything else.
The Riverford clementines are tiny but really juicy and without baggy skins. I thought the one I tried was tart, my mother said hers was sweet.
I think it says possible countries it may come from but never know exactly. Some things seem more exact but maybe the more short season things where it's more planned.
Somewhere I saw this week said they pick their clementines from the outside of the tree where they are sweeter? I really don't like ones that aren't that sweet.. Will get some from whichever place I put my veg box order in next week though to try..0 -

Yep I find spices quite easy to get - I always cook Indian type food with spices, never use jar sauces but there are lots of brands and the odd ones I can't get in normal stores I tend to always be able to pick up in my fave organic shop.
I don't think I've seen fresh organic ginger either, will check next time I'm in some more specialist org type shops to see where there's comes from or even if they stock it.
I think Wilkos were selling it to grow your own this year but obviously the initial piece you start with isn't org.0 -

The Dairy Diary and assorted Dairy cookbooks have been published since the 1960s and over 30 million sold worldwide. Back in the days when everyone had daily milk deliveries, cooks could buy them off their milkman but now you can also get them from the website.
Not often found in charity shops,The Dairy Book of Home Cookery by Sonia Allison had triple tested utterly reliable recipes (they still are) which make it a classic cook book. Bet your grandmother has heard of it (may even have it).
I found this page on the website with loads of recipes from assorted books and diaries - and they would be even better using organic ingredients.

Oh gosh, the Dairy Diary - that's a blast from the past! I remember my mum and gran buying one every year from the milkman, I bet mum's still got them somewhere. They were great basic cookbooks, like the Bero books but so much broader. Might have to look those out when I'm back home over Christmas.0

Mustard making today
1c mustard seeds, I will be usung yellow and black
1c vinegar, I use wine or cider vinegar
steep 24 hours then macerate with a touch of salt, to whatever consistency you want
I store in the fridge for ages, well not ages because it is lovely. Very cheap and no nasties

Hello everybody. Just dropping by to see how you all are. Checking up on the regulars
.
For those who know alittle about my situation, I am still looking for work, staying positive and motivated. My confidence has taken a knock though, I used to find it so easy and now I am finding it terribly hard. When you want to be in work it can be difficult to take. I am looking forward to Christmas though.
I hope you are all well.
