Only Half Hard Drive showing...Please Help.

I had to swap the hard drive on my PC. Have installed 80GB hard drive. However after install it is showing only 31.1GB.....The software I added has only taken 2GB.
Can anyone please help....

The format of the hard drive will probably be Fat32 and needs converting. Im not sure if this will mean a full format and loss of your operating system but try this
start, run, type cmd and press enter. then type in
Convert C: /FS:NTFS
(where C: is the letter of your harddrive)Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0 -

It's Maxtor 4R080L00 -
try looking in the computer manager (right click my computer then manage). then look in storage and disk management. see if there's any unpartioned hard disk space.0

download the ultimate boot cd.
it has the maxtor hard disk utility on it. as well as other useful tools.Get some gorm.0
