Oh and I also hate Special days comps (eg Halloween, Father's Day, Valentines Day, Mother's Day, etc) when the end date is after the event!!!!! Last year I won a great Mother's Day gift but the end date fell the week after Mother's Day and by the time the prize arrived, it was almost Father's Day! WHY??????? I have noticed a few Halloween comps around at the mo with the end date on Halloween or just before so if anyone wins, the prize will never arrive on time!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

Blog competitions that require you to follow every single site their connected with for a ridiculously small prize

Yes, and not naming and shaing but some blogs require you to do flaming loads eg follow then on FB, Twitter, Google Reader, Networked Blogs, via email, Google+, Pinterest, KLOUT etc etc - and why? - just to see the same posts every where you look! Fair enough some prizes are worth all the effort but some prizes are defo not! Oh and in addition to doing it for the prize providers too!

    I'm looking forward to 1st December :D

    I hate....
    Missed calls from unknown/withheld numbers!
Comps that expect you to check the website to see if you've won or ask you to email them to claim the prize
    Liking/sharing comps
Comps that don't provide terms & conditions for holidays/tickets etc...

    CAPTCHA's :D

    Should We Kill the CAPTCHA?

    No please don't!

I don't hate captcha's at all, not since I read an article that explained that these companies that offer to enter people into loads of competitions in return for a monthly fee are more likely to target companies that don't use Captcha's or anything to deter entries made by bots. This means that some of these comps (even for small prizes) get tens of thousands of entries.

These are some things I do hate:-

    1) Twitter competitions that encourage you to tweet a certain hashtag repeatedly, as they want their brand to trend on twitter. (This is against twitter rules, but it still goes on).

    2) Entering ITV Competitions six times over. I wish they would make it only one entry per person.

    3) Facebook like and share competitions. I don't do those now and I doubt if I had won from any that I entered in the past, that I would even be aware I had won.

    4) Competitions where you have to fill in your date of birth, then still tick a box to say you are over 18. Surely, they can tell from my date of birth that I am.

Bluebella, you need a break, or at least some chocolate - :rotfl:

I also hate the comps where you have to do something and then the one with the highest votes win, because it's unlikely that the best one will win. The winner will be someone who is better at nagging people to vote for them. I rarely do these comps anymore.

Keep it coming guys. We are the Victor Meldrews of the comping world.

BTW, I also came across something positive about captchas that made me feel better about them. Someone posted a link here to a clip that explained how they are used to help translate words. It was so clever. If I can find the link, I'll come back and edit this :)
I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be

    THIS IS ME!

When you talk down to others it says more about you than them.
