T-mob payg free web on iPhone 5?

I'm currently on O2 pay as you go. I make minimal texts and calls because I use apps and the web to cover everything. T-mobile have an offer of 12 months free web if you text "FREE 12 MONTH WEB" to 441, but this is only for iPhone 4/4s micro sim users.

Activating this offer has worked for people with older iPhones, but what about newer ones? Has anybody tried this with a nano sim for the iPhone 5? People are selling T-mobile nano sims on gumtree/ebay with the free internet (for extortionate prices) and I assume that's what they have done, but I don't want to try it myself and spend £10 on a sim that I won't use (assuming it fails).

If it works, I pretty much only have to top up once or twice in a year, perfect for subsidising the cost of the ridiculously expensive iPhone!
