Sending something to Italy (tracked)

Hi,
A buyer has asked about sending my item to Italy. Read a few comments and looks like a lot of items go missing.
If he agrees to bank transfer what is the best way to get it there?

Don't do it! Seriously. Italy is one of the few countries I'd never ship to, under any circumstances."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. If the buyer pays by BT, then there is no reason not to send it.0 -
My son sent his used iPod to Italy, l was expecting the worst when l found out but it was fine. If the right postal service is used the seller is covered, even if it is hassle.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Depends whether it's eBay or not. If it is, even with a bank transfer, the vendor could suffer from negative feedback when the goods are stolen in transit and they'd have no comeback."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. Thanks.

Yes and this is no different if the country is UK or USA. Anyone can leave negative feedback, not just those from Italy!
I send to Italy 3-4 times a week and use a courier (items are over 2kg) and I have not had a single problem.
If the OP is worried about his funds being safe, then BT will be fine. If he wants to check how he will be covered re postage, then a read of the sticky will help him make an informed choice.0 -
I've never had a problem with Italy (yet lol).
Malta, OTOH...They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

Congratulations for completely missing the point."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0 -

I haven't missed the point.
Italy is PERFECTLY safe if you use an adequate service.
But then my 208 parcels there in the last year were all delivered safely.
What personal experience do you have? Or did you miss the point. :rotfl:0
