Have got a slight problem connecting my mobile phone to my home wi-fi.Not a problem as such but cant connect it due to my not remembering the password
Got my phone fixed and had it returned Yesterday and tried to connect to the home wi-fi.My laptop connects automatically and I dont need to sign in but my phone prompted me and I tried all of the passwords I thought it could be without success.
Is there any way that I could re-set my wifi password ?
Thanks :money:

Can you not connect to your wireless router via your pc browser and change it in there to something you know? you would have to change it on all the other things you have that use the wifi too (unless of course its visible in the router settings page - it might be, mine is)
What make of router do you have?0 -
Not too sure what make of router it is .Think it is Netgear.

Is the wireless access key not printed on the maker's plate on the back or base of the router?0

If not marked on the router, or the default has been changed, you'll either have to log into the router's web interface as above, or do a factory reset on the router. Doing the latter will wipe all the settings, so you'd additionally need to re-enter your ISP's username and password to reconnect online. You can then set your wi-fi password up again and reconnect all your devices. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for the replies.Think I'm getting a bit out of my depth:o
went on my laptop earlier and looked on my internet settings but could not find where I could change my password. Not too confident I would be able to follow instructions from all of the posts. As its only my laptop , an xbox 360 and a couple of mobile phones that use the wi-fi maybe I should just re-set the router and start again ?

If you reset the router you would need to know what password the router defaults to or everything will be locked out! (especially if you can't get into the configuration screens)
You won't find anything in your internet settings..wrong place.
You need to open a browser on your laptop (internet explorer) and in the address bar at the top, try the instructions I gave you to type...
Basically your router is acts like a website - you look at its settings pages via a web browser and you will either be able to see what the password is set to, or at least change it to one you do know obviously.0 -
Why not start with the basics as already suggested?
Make and model of your router (there are hundreds of Netgears)? It's on a label on the back or base.
And while you are there, is there another label giving the wi-fi password?
A factory reset is a last resort. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

...what's so hard about posting the make and model if you are already at the PC?No free lunch, and no free laptop0
