XLN telecom Let me down, advice please

Not sure if I am in the right thread, I have a business and have been with XLN for quite a few years now for my telephone, on friday I had a call to say there was a better tariff for me which would be a one payment each month and this would inlcude all my calls, at the time i was really busy in the shop and should have asked them to call me back but I didn't and instead said I would take up this offer, on the monday I received a new contract starting from the monday but looking at it I realised it would not be to my benefit, I telephoned them on the monday and asked if I could revert back to my original tariff as I felt with being busy on the friday I had not understood all that was said to me, also in the contract it said I would have to pay for any calls if I went 20% over my normal calls in 3 months, I am sure this wasn't mentioned in the call, there is nothing mentioned in the contract about cancellation, but I have had a call today and been told I cannot cancel and have a 12 month contract now, I feel so let down by XLN is there no way I can now cancel, really I am just seeking advice from you clever people as there always seems to be someone on here who knows all about these things and would appreciate any help, if I am in the wrong then fair enough but just feel I should have had it in writing as well
thank you

Unfortunately this is a consumer website and most people here won't have any experience of business to business transactions.
Thread bumped anyway to see if anyone does, but you might have to make a judgement about taking legal advice (expensive) or gritting your teeth and paying for 12 months then making sure you follow any cancellation procedure to the letter...0 -
Thank you Vuvuzela for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it, I know it is a long shot but I know there are some very knowledgeable people on here who always seem to have an answer for everything0

Could you write to them, stating the provided paperwork is not what you agreed to over the phone, and therefore you consider the contract void?0

Hi ThumbRemote thanks for replying I have spoken to them and told them that but was told I am now in a contract and can't do anything about it, I guess I will probably have to stay for the 12 months but there is no way I would stay with them after, I can't believe a company rings on a friday with a proposition and o n the monday it is all signed and sealed and they won't negotiate even though I felt pressured into it0

Have you tried posting in the small business board? Maybe they can help?"fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0

Hi Flashnavia thank you for your reply I didn't realise there was a small business board0

For what it is worth I had a near miss with these guys a few days ago.
Looking to move into new offices and they looked interesting from a cost perspective. The funny thing is they have a Trustpilot account and while I was speaking to the customer rep decided to look through their reviews. What an eye opener!! The main issue appears to be a cancellation fee of £350 odd quid. Made my excuses and put down the phone after the rep could not give me a clear answer. But he did admit that the fee was very high, " cos they are a business ":rotfl:
My advice is to stay well clear0
