UKmail rant-just want to vent :)

I ordered my new phone with Orange on saturday and they said delivery would be tuesday. This moring I got a text saying out for delivery today and what to do if I wanted to change delivery day, I wanted it today so left it.

Checked the tracking number on ukmail on and off throught the day, all day said 'out for delivery'. Still no sign by 5pm so checked again and it had changed to 'please call'.

I called them and it was over 20 minutes before anyone answered the phone, I was told that the delivery guy has said he was unable to find me!!!! I see their vans delivering to the house across the road from me at least once a week, they had a phone number to contact me on, and I live 3 houses away from the main through road of my town. The guy I spoke to found my house on google maps straight away :eek:

I had been told they delivered up til 7pm at night but the driver who had my parcel had gone back to depot and gone home so I now have to wait until tomorrow, the guy I spoke to put a note to the delivery guy that im on the school run first thing and what time i will be home so fingers crossed he dont decide to come between 8.30-9.30am.........though knowing my luck he will!!

The guy in the van doesn't have a computer in front of him to be able to search for the address online.

The fact they deliver to houses near you doesn't mean much - they don't look at every house and memorise their names and locations on every street they visit.

Does your house have a name and not a number? I'm going to assume the former...

nope im number 3, literally just off the main road by the road name sign-i have no idea how he could not have found me at all!

I know that he doesnt have a computer, but he did have my phone number so why not call???

These guys are the pits! They broke three of my parcels (cast iron chimineas!) before I ended up just asking the company to refund me. The company had lots of complaints against them so have not renewed their contract, ha ha!

I hate it when you give a number though and they never call...actually I have never know any of them to call, and I order a lot of stuff.

I usually find it easier to collect from their depot, although sometimes then i have found that they have no record I ever asked to collect it. Hmmm.

I hope you get your parcel, I'm sure you will, but deliveries are so annoying!

Oh right, in which case just poor service then. They've probably overloaded the driver with work and he's not been able to complete it. I suspect another 'stack em high sell em cheap' type operation

More like the driver ran out of time and sacked it for the day. Not being able to find your address seems like a weak excuse to me.

they really are useless, i told the guy i spoke to last night that i had sorted the day to wait at home all day yesterday and that for redelivery today i had to go out at 8.15-9.15am to do the school run with my 2 kids, he said he'd let the delivery guy know that...........got home at 9.10am to find a card-theyd attempted delivery at 8.40am!!!!!!!! Am now back on the phone to them-well when they decide to answer. Really not happy!

I got a new Orange phone two weeks ago. I paid a 1p to have it delivered before 10.30 am on the day of my choice, and it arrived around 10 am.

As I am in Belfast can't remember the company who did delivered it to me? But I am an upstairs flat with the front door facing away from the street.

I have had mine direct through orange customer services,ordered saturday avo and told would be delivered tuesday/ my sister ordered one on orange via dialaphone on monday, was dispactched last night and arrvived this morning SD.

I got through to someone finally, they said they could see the notes re me being on school run and couldnt explain why the driver tried to deliver then, he then said he would put a call in to the depot and find out what was going on and where my parcel was and give me a call back. 2.5 hours later I got an email telling me they were currently unable to contact the driver for an ETA on my phone!!!!! that was at 11.56am, they havent replied to my reply to that, and the phone still hasnt arrived

The drivers probably don't have company phones so wont call using there own credit, or probably don't have the time either
