Hi all,

Please see edit on 1st post in this thread. This is only a chat board. I had no idea how rabid & posessive some people are (after I offered to send some exclusove offers out-thread now vanished) about an internet chat board.

If anyone needs me e-mail me/call me (vontact details on my web site). I'm in the process of moving so have not been around for a while.I'm sure certain people will be glad I'm not posting on here anymore (you know who you are) so they can answer to their hearts content from 8am-10pm every day (do they ever go out??!). One last thing.....no one does something for nothing...funny how so many of the 'links' given by the more prolific posters are similar....hey ho nothing can be proved but worth thinking about. I've had some e-mails from other travel bods who've given up on this board which is controlled by mainly the one person.

I have asked for this topic to be unstuck as TM as said he will no longer be posting or checking for quotes. Can I suggest anyone wanting prices to post on the main board in thier own topic and ask for help from everyone to find a deal. Can I just say in TM's world maybe someone doesnt do something for nothing but I can promise I dont earn a penny from helping niether does Sloppy and many of the others that offer thier time and trouble not just on the Travel forum but right across the board

What is wrong with making money???? I have many, many customers from here & from Teletext who were happy I booked their holiday for them-at a slightly higher price to give them ATOL bonding?????

You 2 are the most knowledgable people in travel (who are not in the industry) I know, but come on, admit it, you both hate the notion of anyone making money for finding a holiday??! Thats why hardly any Agents bother to make REGULAR quotes on here-cos if they spend 1/2 an hour of their valuable time looking for the perfect deal one of you guys will quote £10 cheaper??? Time IS money-we all have to eat!

Now-that really IS taking the biscuit. Might I remind you Sava, of a phone conversation we had where you said 'any queries/quotes you made on here were passed to Cheryl (who used to work for Co-Op Travel) & you got £5 per booking???? And also that you used to load her offers on a private/trade only website- holidayholiday?

You can't deny that Sava. & if you do we have archives of e-mails (at work) that I'm sure can prove this.

Now I don't see a problem at all with making £5 a booking....but it's NOT transparent as you've said earlier.I also remember you saying 'oh no-have you seen this new idiot that's posting' (can't remember who it was but it was a travel agent who lasted a week on here as he felt 'pushed out').

So-where were the complaints from people who had my e-mail of offers? Three people have booked & are very happy with the prices-we were £40 pp cheaper than the web-site!

I'm sick of being the black sheep in all this. There IS a place for ATOL protected quotes. Yes-hold my hands up-not on here as much as I'd like but I have a lot going on at the moment.

I think a good idea would be a SEPARATE thread for ATOL Travel Agents. Yes-we'd be making money-SO WHAT??! But the consumer would get full protection. I feel that moneysaving can be combined with full protection. I* suggest a fee per booking to Martins Charity-in fact I think that'd be a great idea. You guys stick with your thread-us agents stick with hours-good idea?

And also Sava........as your being snide about 'my' world please confirm/deny the '£5 a booking' conversation?

When she worked for HolidayNow which she hasnt done for over 18mths
+ it was way before I started posting on here.
Yes I did used to earn £5 per booking but not in cash...she used to take the amount off the next holiday I had and most I ever got was an extra £50 and that was make up from mostly family bookings and people family had recomended. I certainly earn nothing now shes moved thats why Iasked you if you remember if you knew of another company like Kwik that did the Host Agency, Because I do all these quotes here and for people I know and YES it would be nice make money but no problem I do ok with finding deals..
No one minds you making money its your job but it doesnt go well when you set up the thread then dissapear for months only to pop on and PM people with your number or just saying contact me via e-mail its NOT what the board is about.

yes I used to load her deals for her holiday holiday page but that I got nothing for ...Its called helping a friend out when work-kids and general life style doesnt give you enough time...GOT FRIENDS?

BTW thought you wasnt posting anymore so why want your own thread? easier to PM people?

And if we are bringing up past event when Cheryl did work for your company the Customer Service stank both for her support and for the customer thats why she left so good luck to anyone that books.

Allot of the quotes that I put up are from people like the EclipseDirect and other direct sell companies+ Thomsons build your own so YES they are ABTA/ATOL covered

Yes and the new idiot threatened to come round to my house and kill me..Yes he was a Travel agent and if you remeber (not that your here that often) he got very abusive on the board not only to me but other members.
He got banned for it because I forwared all the abusive e-mails on to the admin of the board and called his supervisor...supprise supprise it was the same company you work for

I don't know the history between the three of you and I don't want to. All I want is a good deal when I book a holiday. If the person who makes the booking is a professional and makes a few pounds and I am happy, we both win.

I am aware that people are finding deals for others and not getting anything out of it, and a lot of people are very grateful for this of that I am sure.

I like Chris's idea of a thread for travel pro's and a donation to charity. What is wrong with that ?

Nothing at all, I have never had a problem with Chris till now coming out with comments like "appointed owners" get my back up. Then start putting telephone conversations up and offering to put my e-mails up and asking me to justify myself for offering my time for free. This borad would be better off if they did what HolidayTruths did and ban him...Sorry its really annoyed me
