Faulty washing machine - whats my rights?

We bought a washing machine from Very that was delivered on the 24/09/12
On spin it makes a terrible banging noise, now we have had a lot of washing machines in the past and know high speed spins can be nosie, but this is a banging noise, like the drum is knocking against the door frame.
I have phoned Very who tell me to phone the manufacture.
I don't want a repair as its only a few weeks old.
Can anyone please advise on my rights? I would ideally like a replacement or a refund to purchase another machine from very.
We have bought the item on credit from very, if that makes any difference.
Many thanks

Did you take the travelling bolts out?0

And when the machine was installed, did whoever did it make sure that it was level and that all 4 feet were making a good contact with the floor?0

Think you have your answer above, more likely to be what Hintza said.
On a side note the amount of people that do this makes me laugh0 -
Yup, likely to be the transit bolts. Have a look at the back of the machine OP. There will be at least two, most likely three VERY large galv steel bolts screwed in. The purpose of these is to protect the drum in transit and they are mean to be removed during installation.0

Hi Rizel23,
We are very sorry to hear that you are not happy with your washing machine.
We would ask you to contact the manufacturers helpline as they will have the technical expertise to diagnose the problem you have been experiencing and hopefully provide a remedy. If the issue turns out out to be as other posters have suggested then they should be able to arrange for an engineer to call out and repair/fix the machine.
If you would like to email us at Network@VeryHQ.co.uk then we can look into this for you.
Many Thanks
Dave

I have put in many washing machines over the years, so fully aware of transit bolts and the need to be removed. The polystyrene was also removed (as per instructions from Beko)
The machine is installed on all four feet and height adjusted to the level required on a cushioned floor. It replaced an old machine that was functioning fine in the same position.
As I'm sure Very can understand, we should not be expecting a repair on a 'new' washing machine as we made them aware of the fault as soon as it arose via phone. I shall leave this open for Dave to reply (seeing as the issue has been made public) before contacting Very again via the e-mail address provided.0 -
Don't you think you may be better contacting them straight away re above problem.
The chances of Dave coming back on here today or even this week are slight, you could be waiting ages for action from replying to you on here. Also they won't sort it out in public anyway.
I am not an expert on this also, but I do think that they have the right to offer the repair to the product, you do not have the automatic right to a replacement or refund for it. Some ' more qualified ' posters may be able to fill you in more on this.0 -
Interesting, why are you stalling?0

Yes those are the transit bolts. In that case as they are removed contact the very rep as per their post aboveThanks for all your replies.

Dave,
Why are you trying to get out of your responsibilities under the Sale of Goods Act?
As retailer it is your responsibility to deal with the problem. The customer deals with you directly, not with the manufacturer.0
