Faulty washing machine - whats my rights?

Thanks for replies.
Firstly I'm not stalling, i have contacted Very twice via phone already.
My original post was requesting my rights as a consumer in regards to this issue, although i have welcomed any secondary advice from forum members.
Verys' position via phone and now via forum post is to contact the manufacture, but as the item is only a few weeks old i don't believe that is any of my responsibility to do so, my contract is with Very (who i made aware of the problem last week), not the manufacture hence why i would like to give Dave (Very) a chance to resolve the issue as its obviously now been made public and i would hate to think it would be putting of other potential customers the issue I'm having.0 -
Spot on as is ThumbRemote. Cannot believe Very are shrugging this off, known to do it over the phone to those not aware of their rights but to do so in a public forum? Also I would be slightly concerned that if that is Dave's response I dont see him as a fit and proper member of staff to deal with customers problems when they do not know the law. Thanks for replies.

Cue, amended post or being asked to contact him directly. Nice work TR for quoting the post0 -
If the fault has been discovered within a "reasonable time" then the OP can reject the machine outright for a full refund. I'd argue they're well within this period in this particular instance.rustyboy21 wrote: »I am not an expert on this also, but I do think that they have the right to offer the repair to the product, you do not have the automatic right to a replacement or refund for it. I don't see the problem with Very asking you to contact the manufacturer, they are the experts after all and its often quicker going direct to them anyway it may be something simple that needs adjusting.0

The OP is after a full refund, which he's within his rights to ask for, going direct to the manufacturer in this instance is likely to result in a repair, which is not what they want.I don't see the problem with Very asking you to contact the manufacturer, they are the experts after all and its often quicker going direct to them anyway it may be something simple that needs adjusting.0 -
as "its only a few weeks old" im not sure they will have a choice0
