Can't get approval for new card to transfer balance?

I can't work it out, nothing has changed except I purchased a flat and moved into it, also at the time of applying for the new card I was in my overdraft.

I've not registered for council tax or electoral register yet but I'm working on it now.

Any ideas? Or all of the above?

This is the problem. Don't apply for any more credit until you're on the register, as you won't get it.

  • I applied for Barclays and tesco cards, how long should I wait after receiving confirmation that I am on the register?

I'm accumulating interest every month I hold off...

Thanks for you help guys ;-)

Of course if you had applied whilst technically still at your old address, used your old address on your application and had your mail forwarded in case anything came after you moved, this wouldn't be a problem. But to do that now and pretend to still be at your old address would be illegal

After registering, you will have to wait for the electoral register to be updated and then to show on your credit report. Check with your local council when the next update will take place
  • Just spoke to them, I'll be on the new address on the 16th of this month. Have a shot myself in the foot by applying to the 2 cc companies above? Worth reapplying or try other?

Applying in bulk is never a good idea - I'd suggest you do no more in case your multiple attempts are seen as desparation.
  • When should I apply for another card?

I would give it at least 3 months, 6 would be better.

Before reapplying for tesco/Barclays? Or before applying for any cards?

    Thanks
