    Grudgingly because this thread could become boreing (yes deliberate). :D:D

    Boring yes to most, but the reason I came in was when Keith mentioned 1/2" "iron pipe". Almost all folks not in the know would expect this to be 1/2 od, not almost 3/4" bore, making the comparison with old imperial 1/2" copper lets confusion set in.
    Even worse when you consider imperial 1/2" copper was measured in actual i/d and it's replacement metric 15mm by o/d

    and now it has. Have a beer. :beer:
