Can anyone give me a true indication of the MPG for a new Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec please?
Ford quote 50 combined but I have heard from someone who claims it to be nearer 30 which sound horrendous!!

I drive a 51 reg Fiesta Zetec, gives me 37 mpg. has been this for town driving, motorway driving, gentle driving, spirited driving, you name it!0

Both figures sound about right. Depends how and where you drive it.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

Here you go, http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg/ford/fiesta-2008/125
41.6mpg is the real world average or 39.6mpg depending on the power output of the 1.25.

Forgot all about that website. The data for my current car is still about 10% higher than I actually achieve so not too good!0 -
When using one of those for a regular 130 mile return trip, 45mpg was usual.0

Sit in heavy traffic and the MPG will be a lot less than what they state anyway.
Ive got a Mondeo diesel, I average low 30's. During the snowy weather last year and the year before i averaged 28mpg and 26mpg.
These are true figures over a full tank of fuel.
Terrible you may say, Some have said its faulty. But its running well.
I filled up and reset the computer on saturday. Free flowing A roads and a couple of short stretches of dual carriageway. I kept to 60mph or less.
62.3mpg average for the 42 mile journey.
I also reset the trip a week or so back whilst doing 70mph, Just over 60mpg then also.
But when you sit in traffic for 0.3 to 0.6 of a mile that should take under a minute but generally takes 15 to 30 minutes poor fuel consumption is a part of life.
Thats why people's MPG figures vary so much. My BIL is the opposite, He can usually beat the manufacturers claims. Within 50 yards he is off his drive and small lane onto a dual carriageway 8.4 miles long before he needs to slow.
He starts work at 5 so rarely sees another car.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I have a 2011 Fiesta with the 1.25 82PS engine, and have averaged 49mpg since new. I do drive quite gently though, and mostly on motorways.
It's a very basic model. Posher models with wider tyres and air conditioning might have slightly worse fuel consumption.0 -
I bought a Fiesta Centura (basically the 1.25 82PS with 16" wheels and extra toys) in April, done around 8,000 miles now, MPG averages around 44 now.0

3 month old fiesta zetec 1.25 82ps average 41-42 mpg mostly short journeys. I expect this to get better once i have put a couple of 1000 miles on her. hth. p.s. 1200 miles at the moment.Better to remain a silent fool than speak and remove all doubt.0
