I'm sorry to hear things are rubbish in other areas too. Hopefully the mental break will help you in those areas too.
I do believe you will definitely create an easier life for yourself with all the hard work investment you're currently putting in. You definitely deserve that too!
Basically my father had a cancer scare and operation and I almost broke up with girlfriend of 6 years. He got the all clear after op and tissue sample and me and GF are 90% there again. So has been some good news this month.0 -
Oh that's good to hear that things have picked up now. I'm so happy to hear your Dad has been given the all clear. What a relief.
Sorry to hear about your relationship. But again, great to hear that you're 90% there again. Not far to go with that either.
Phew!0 -
Right, So spoke to place that offered me placement/job.
They have said, for me to contact them may/june for a chat and that its not been left on bad terms and they dont want to add to pressure of test.
So will drive about in mums yaris over christmas and then sit test late dec/early jan.
I'll get test passed and see If theres maybe something else I can do in the meantime before may, few ideas.0 -

Just want to come out of lurkdom to tell you that i understand what you're going through re: driving. I am 31 and had a horrible experience at 17, gave up learning because I went to uni and couldn't afford it, took lessons in my 20s from a shark, gave up for years before finally finding an instructor that i trusted and worked for me.
It still took me 2 more failed tests (5 in total i think!), and my theory expiring and having to retake it...and then me dallying for a few years taking lessons on and off before realising my theory was about to expire again, quickly booked a test and FINALLY passed 3 days before my theory expired!
It's the most scary, nerve wracking thing i have done in my life. I even stalled (twice!) while reversing round a corner!
have you tried using the rescue remedy spray? i used that on my test, and a few lessons before hand to make sure it didn't make me feel sick. do you use the same driving instructor when you take your lessons? would you feel more confident if s/he sat in on your test with you? My instructor was more than happy to sit in with me knowing how nervous they make me, but I felt like having him there would be even more pressure!
Anyway, i'll stop rambling on, I think it's good you've given yourself a bit of time to breathe and regroup, you can go back to it after xmas a little more refreshed! good luck with job hunting, and keep on chipping away at your debts, you'll get there!LBM: January 2012

Thanks for taking the time to write your experiences. I think maybe for me it's just a bit more experience and a bit less pressure and hopefully that'll do it!

If I knew it would just be another 3 tests and 375 quid in a mad way I'd be happy. My instructor says the worst he ever had was 5, which I'll be equalling!
Its funny most things you can work harder at and you end up doing better at it, I'm finding driving to be basically the opposite lol
I think I just need a lot more driving about, less pressure and relax.
I can actually do everything they ask of me, just keep making silly mistakes.0
